Since its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo, the Kia Carnival has been among India's most upscale MPVs, shy of being classified as a luxury vehicle. Later that year, a generational update was made to the global product.

Although it will go by the internal codename KA4, Kia has just recently publicly confirmed that the fourth-generation Carnival would be present at the Auto Expo 2023.

Overview

In 2018, as its activities in India were going to be established, Kia India made its Auto Expo debut. Kia has rapidly elevated itself to a position as a top OEM producer. The following Auto Expo in 2023 will feature a significant number of new vehicles that Kia has promised to showcase.

The 2020 global unveiling of Carnival's KA4 fourth-generation model. It's noteworthy to note that when Kia debuted the updated third-generation Carnival in India, the global launch of the 4th generation vehicle was just a few weeks away. Furthermore, Kia is getting set to display the current Carnival at the same time that the facelifted model has been spotted.

The fourth-generation Carnival has a new platform as its foundation and is larger than the third-generation. Thanks to its fresh design aesthetic, it even appears more upscale and durable than before.

A considerable change was made to the interior as well. The new dashboard has a larger center touchscreen, a digital driver's display, a revised climate control panel, and a rotary drive selection. This time around, the India-spec vehicle might even have ADAS.

Kia Carnival KA4 Specs and Features

The teaser shows off the angular lines, squared-off posture, wide C-pillar, diamond-patterned "tiger nose" grille, projectors built into the grille's corners, more svelte primary headlight assemblies, and significant character line on the side profile of the MPV.

The new Carnival has a bolder, bigger, and more SUV-like appearance. Kia aimed to redesign the MPV with an SUV-like look with the update. Given that it is 5,156mm longer than any other vehicle on the market (or 3rd gen Carnival), it is a huge difference in length A 7-seater, 9-seater, and 11-seater version is available for seating arrangements.

The MPV has a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a similarly sized digital instrument panel. A 3-zone climate control system, wireless charging, powered front seats, several airbags, front collision assistance, and lane departure warning are among the amenities available on top-tier models.

A 2.2-liter turbo diesel and a 3.5-liter petrol engine are the two powertrain options available to Carnival in overseas markets. However, it is likely that diesel will be the only engine option for the Indian market.

A luxurious four-seater to a practical nine-seater are just a few of the several seating arrangements that the Carnival is still adding to its fleet globally. The three-row version with a choice of seven or eight seats, with the former gaining opulent captain seats in the middle row, is still the most popular arrangement.

The back profile can be seen in the leaked image, which also reveals the new alloy wheels, short taillamps, and updated rear quarter window. We can tell that the exterior of the new Carnival has been completely redesigned with a modernized tiger-nose grille, square LED headlights with integrated DRLs, and re-profiled fore and aft bumpers because it is already for sale in several international countries.

The fourth-generation Carnival is offered with three engine choices on the international market: a 3.5-liter GDi V6 petrol (290 bhp/355 Nm), a 3.5-liter MPi V6 (268 bhp/332 Nm), and a 2.2-liter (199 bhp/404 Nm). A gearbox with eight speeds is standard on all motors.

Other launches this Year

Kia will also display the EV9 electric-SUV concept in addition to the brand-new Carnival, which is anticipated to be on sale in India in the second period of 2023. The exhibit, which will arrive in India before the holiday season, will also be the facelifted Seltos model.

Also announced by Kia is the exhibition of the brand-new, three-row Sorento SUV. The fourth generation of the Sorento, which was launched in 2020 and is Kia's worldwide answer to the Hyundai Santa Fe, is presently available. According to the feedback and evaluation, Kia is analyzing the Sorento for the Indian automobile market, and a debut there may happen soon.
