Anyone who has financed a car in Nepal knows the waiting is the worst part. Paperwork goes in, and then nothing happens for weeks.
Syakar Trading Company, the authorised Honda distributor in Nepal, has signed an agreement with NIC Asia Bank to handle auto loans for Honda buyers. The headline commitment is the timeline: once all required documents are submitted, the bank has committed to completing the loan process within six working days.
What the agreement covers
NIC Asia will provide financing to Honda customers at what both parties describe as an attractive interest rate, though the specific figure has not been disclosed publicly.
The facility applies to the CR-V, the City e:HEV, the fifth-generation City and the Elevate. That covers most of Honda's current passenger lineup in Nepal, from the hybrid sedan through to the SUV end of the range.
The agreement was signed by Amit KC, Chief Business Officer, and Dipak Acharya, Head of Mortgage Banking and Auto Loan, on behalf of NIC Asia Bank. Srijana Shakya Jyoti, Managing Director of Syakar Trading, signed for the distributor.
What buyers get
Auto loans through NIC Asia Bank on Honda purchases
Loan processing committed within six working days of full documentation
Financing available on the CR-V, City e:HEV, fifth-generation City and Elevate
Available through Syakar Trading's Honda network
Why the timeline matters
The interest rate will draw attention, but the six-day commitment is the more interesting part of this deal.
Vehicle financing in Nepal has a reputation for stalling. Buyers submit documents, wait, chase, and often watch a festive window close while their application sits somewhere in a queue. Putting a number on the turnaround, and doing it publicly, means both parties have something to be held to.
The condition attached is worth reading carefully though. Six working days starts after all required documents have been received. Incomplete paperwork resets nothing, because the clock never started. Buyers who want the promised speed will need to arrive prepared.
The timing is deliberate
This lands during the festive buying season, when nearly every distributor in the market is running some form of financing or exchange offer.
What separates this from the discount-led campaigns running elsewhere is that it is a structural arrangement rather than a limited-period scheme. There is no end date tied to Chhath, which suggests Syakar is treating it as a standing facility rather than a seasonal hook.
For buyers weighing a Honda against the heavily discounted festive offers elsewhere, that is worth factoring in. A fast, predictable loan process has value beyond the Dashain window.
