A brand-new electric vehicle concept from Skoda called VISION 7S, which essentially teases a 7-seat electric vehicle, has been unveiled. The brand's future design language is also made clear by the VISION 7S, which also features a new logo on the hood.

By 2026, Skoda intends to introduce three electric cars, including a small sedan, a compact SUV, and a production version of the VISION 7S. By 2030, Skoda claims it hopes to have a market share of more than 70% of all-electric vehicles in Europe.

The company has disclosed that it will release new-generation models of the Superb and Kodiaq in the second half of 2023.

Overview

The VISION 7S concept's front end has what Skoda refers to as a "Tech-Deck Face," which includes a radiator grille that is flat, more expansive, but overall more petite, and whose ribs have been replaced by black glass that hides the car's sensors. The revised front end, according to Skoda, has an improved aerodynamic form.

The vehicle has brand-new T-shaped LED headlights and taillights. A continuous ambient light strip that covers the front of the car serves as a complement to the headlights. The front and back of the vehicle are near the illuminated Skoda lettering, a feature of the updated company symbol.

Design and Features

The interior of the VISION 7S features a 14.6-inch touchscreen, which is the largest Skoda vehicle ever to have one, an 8.8-inch display, and a newly styled two-spoke steering wheel with flattened top and bottom edges. There is also a head-up display for virtual reality. When the car is stopped, certain functions can be controlled via the touchpad built into the lower spoke of the steering wheel.

The Vision 7S provides passengers with two interior layouts, with sliding and rotating internal modules to create the ideal vibe for various situations, including driving and relaxing. The seat fabric is made entirely of recycled polyester, and the entire cabin has been built with environmentally friendly components. In addition, the cabin has matte paint everywhere.

The primary 14.6-inch touchscreen is positioned vertically for improved accessibility and information gathering, and all the buttons are conveniently located within the driver's easy reach when driving.

At the touch of a button on the center console, the Relax mode can be chosen for charging or stopping. To make more room for the driver and passengers, the steering wheel and instrument panel, in this case, slide backward. For added comfort, the first-row seats can tilt inward and recline, letting the back passengers see the screen. Second-row seats also have reclining backs.

The Volkswagen Group's MEB platform for electric vehicles serves as the foundation for the Skoda Vision 7S. Skoda's Vision 7S concept measures 5,016mm long, 1,940mm wide, and 1,888mm in height. Also, the Skoda Vision 7S has a 3,075mm wheelbase and 242mm ground clearance for its concept electric SUV.

Skoda claims that the 89kWh battery pack used in the Vision 7S concept EV can provide power for more than 600 kilometers of driving on a single charge. 200kW of quick DC charging is supported by the battery pack.

Conclusion

The Vision 7S debuts the new Skoda design language and teases a brand-new Skoda vehicle. To complete the high end of the automaker's product line and client service, the all-electric SUV claims that it can accommodate up to seven passengers and is filled with Simple Smart features.

Currently, only a concept vehicle, the Skoda Vision 7S, is anticipated to be production-ready in 2026. It's too soon to estimate the cost of this car, though.
