Along with the Red Magic 7, Nubia also added the Red Magic 7 Pro to its latest flagship gaming series smartphones. With the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, the Pro model also features a dedicated Red Core 1 gaming chip, an under-display camera, and 135W fast charging. So, let's go through the specs, features, and availability of the Nubia Red Magic 7 Pro, along with its expected price in Nepal.

Nubia Red Magic 7 Pro Overview

Design and Display

Red Magic 7 Pro features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate,9600Hz touch sampling rate, and has a brightness of 700 nits. The display of the Pro model is somewhat similar to the non-pro but with 100 percent DCI P3 color gamut, 10-bit color, DC dimming, and more.

The smartphone comes in Cyber Neon, Dark Knight, and the Deuterium Transparent Edition. Cyber Neon and Dark Knight edition feature RGB backlighting for the Red Magic logo and breathing lights, while the Transparent Edition has RGB lighting on the fan, visible through the transparent glass. The whole device weighs 235 grams and is 9.98 mm thick.

Performance

Like the non-pro model, inside of the Red Magic 7 pro is also a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor but is paired with a dedicated Red Core 1 chipset to enhance the gaming experience. It comes with up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device runs on Redmagic OS 5.0 based on Android 12.

For cooling, the smartphone features an improved ICE 8.0 cooling system. It has an RGB fan, spinning at 20,000 RPM, a nine-layer heat dissipation, and a “canyon air duct” with a double air inlet design. Nubia claims that there is a 35% increase in airflow compared to previous generations. Further, the dedicated Red Core 1 chip on the smartphone has improved the touch sampling rate of the shoulder triggers to 500 Hz with a 7.4ms low response rate.

Camera

For optics, the Red Magic 7 Pro gets a triple rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Upfront is a 16-megapixel under-display camera for selfies and video calls. It uses a tripod-shaped pixel arrangement and wave-shaped wiring to keep the transparency as high as possible.

Battery and Others

Powering the device is a 5000mAh battery that supports 135-watt fast charging. Like the Red Magic 7, it also ships with the industry’s first 165W GaN charger inside the box.

Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, HDMI, a USB 3.0 Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Furthermore, users can also buy an external Turbo Cooler, which the company claims can improve heat dissipation by 17% while being 3dB quieter.

Nubia Red Magic 7 Pro starts at CNY 4,799 for the base 12GB RAM + 128GB storage model. It goes all the way up to CNY 7,499 for the top 18GB + 1TB Deuterium Transparent Edition in China. If the smartphone launches in Nepal, we expect the price to start around Rs.95,000.
