Xiaomi has launched a new gaming smartphone called the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. It is the successor of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition launched last year and features specs like Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, 120W fact charging, 120Hz OLED display, and more. In this post, we'll be talking about the expected price of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition in Nepal, along with all the specifications and features offered by this gaming smartphone of Redmi.

Redmi K50 Gaming Edition Overview

Design and Display

Redmi K50 Gaming Edition features a 6.67-inch HDR10+ OLED panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. The display further has a DCI-P3 color gamut, 10bit colors, Display Mate A+ certification, and protection of Gorilla Glass Victus.

In terms of design, the device has a metallic frame and an AG Glass finish on the back. There’s an “X” shaped theme on the back panel and the camera module, along with thunder bolt-shaped Led flash. The X shape on the camera frame doubles as an LED strip for the notification light.

Apart from the regular color options, there’s also a Mercedes AMG F1 edition that has a distinct grey color theme with cyan color LED notification light. Redmi partnered with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team to create this limited edition device, which is limited to 10,000 units worldwide.

Performance

 

Moving on to the processor, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 high-speed storage. 

Being a gaming smartphone, the K50 Gaming Edition features an impressive cooling system. The cooling setup offers dual second-gen stainless steel vapor chambers, covering 4,860mm² of total area. The vapor chambers can transfer the heat from the battery, IC, and processor to the second-gen white graphene heat spreaders, which are claimed to be 20% more efficient than the last generation.

The smartphone also offers the world’s first CyberEngine ultra-wideband X-axis motor, which is the largest X-axis vibration motor on an Android smartphone currently available.

Camera

 

For optics, the triple rear camera setup of the device consists of a 64MP Sony IMX686 main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide with 120° FoV, and a 2MP macro lens. Upfront is a 20MP Sony IMX596 sensor for selfies and video calls. The rear camera module also features a flicker sensor that can detect the frequency of fluorescent lights and adjusts shutter speed and ISO.

Battery and Others

 

Redmi K50 Gaming Edition packs a 4700mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging, claimed to fully charge the smartphone from 0% in just 17 minutes. The phone uses a wide-band four-unit speaker with JBL sound quality adjustment, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Double Gold certification. 

Connectivity options on the device include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Furthermore, the smartphone features two magnetic pop-up shoulder key 2.0 triggers to enhance the mobile gaming experience.
