Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro brings Snapdragon 888+, 165Hz refresh rate, and 720Hz touch sampling rate

Nubia has announced its new gaming smartphone called the Red Magic 6S Pro. The smartphone brings a 165Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 888+ chipset, built-in cooling fan, and much more. Red Magic 6S Pro Overview

Red Magic 6S Pro comes with a 6.8 inches AMOLED display that has a peak brightness of 700 nits. It has up to 165Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch sampling rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. There are two shoulder triggers that run at a 450 Hz touch sampling rate with a 2.2 ms response time. It also has a new trigger located on the back of the phone. The whole device weighs 215 grams and is 9.5 mm thick.

Inside of the Red Magic 6S Pro is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ processor. It is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device runs on Redmagic 4.0 based on Android 11. For cooling, the smartphone features an ICE 7.0 cooling system that has a Phase Change Materials (PCM), which stores generated heat and releases it slowly afterward. It also comes with an active cooling fan, which spins at 20,000 RPM. The RGB-illuminated cooling fan is visible in the variant with a transparent back called “Ghost”.

For optics, the 6S Pro gets a triple rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Upfront is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

Powering the device is a 4500mAh battery that supports 120-watt fast charging. The global version of the smartphone will feature a bigger 5050mAh battery with support for 66-watt charging. It also comes with a Charge Separation mode, which provides plug-in power without charging the battery and helps keep the smartphone cooler during long gaming sessions.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, HDMI, a USB 3.0 Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Further, the device has an under-display fingerprint sensor the also detects heart rate and has a response time of 100 ms.
