ZTE unveils Axon 30 5G with Second-Gen Under Display Camera

ZTE has announced its second-gen under-display camera smartphone called ZTE Axon 30 5G. Other than an under-display camera, the smartphone features a Snapdragon 870 chipset, 55-watt fast charging, a 64MP Sony IMX682 main sensor, and much more. In this post, we will go through the specifications, features, and expected price of the ZTE Axon 30 5G in Nepal.

ZTE Axon 30 5G is priced at CNY 2,198 for the 6/128GB and goes up to CNY 3,098 for the higher 12/256GB variant in China.

Talking about the under-display camera, the screen above the camera now has a high pixel density of 400 PPI up from 200ppi on the Axon 20. It features a 7-layer structure including higher transmittance materials, an all-new UDC Pro screen display chip, and an ACE circuit arrangement. ZTE claims these features get more light to the camera sensor resulting in improved image clarity. The camera uses a 4-in-1 binning process capturing 2.24um equivalent pixels.

ZTE Axon 30 5G Overview

ZTE Axon 30 5G features a 6.92 inches OLED display that supports a 120Hz fast refresh rate. Thus 10bit display has a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels. The device features a glass back, weighs 189 grams, and measures just 7.8mm thick.

Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. This 7nm 5G chip can be paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device operates on MyOS 11 on top of Android 11.

Axon 30 5G features a quad-camera setup at the back and as mentioned above an under-display selfie camera upfront. The quad-camera setup consists of a 64MP Sony IMX682 main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide with 120-degree FOV, a 5MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. Upfront is a 16MP under-display front-facing camera.

Powering the device is a 4200mAh battery that supports 55-watt fast charging. The fingerprint scanner here is an under-display optical sensor. Furthermore, the device uses WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless connectivity.

ZTE Axon 30 5G is priced at CNY 2,198 for the 6/128GB and goes up to CNY 3,098 for the higher 12/256GB variant in China. If the device arrives in Nepal, we expect the price to start around Rs.45,000.
