Nepal Telecommunication Authority, the regulatory body of the telecommunications sector, has reduced the mobile interconnection call charges by Rs.0.44 from Magh 1, 2077. Implementing the “Nepal Interconnection Guidelines 2076”, the authority has reduced inter-operator call charges.
With the implementation of new guidelines, the interconnection calls charge drops by Rs.0.44. Earlier, service providers have been charging an extra Rs.0.54 per minute for the interconnection fee. The directive has changed that to a maximum of Rs.0.10 per minute. If you're wondering whats an interconnection fee is, then it's a cost that a mobile operator pays to another operator when a call is established between the two.

After the price cut, the new charges on outgoing calls from different network operators are as follow;
| Networks (outgoing) |
Old Charges (per minute) |
New Charges (per minute) |
| NTC (Prepaid) | Rs.2.00 | Rs.1.56 |
| NTC (Postpaid) | Rs.1.50 | Rs.1.06 |
| Ncell | Rs.1.99 | Rs.1.55 |
| Smart Cell | Rs.1.92 | Rs.1.48 |
