Breaking! Embossed Number plate to be made mandatory in Nepal

The Department of Transport Management will make arrangements for the customers who have registered their vehicles to apply for the embossed number plate from Falgun 1.

Director-General of the Department of Transport Management Namaraj Ghimire has said that this arrangement will be made only for the customers who transfer their names (Namsari) from Falgun 1.

Director-General Ghimire said, "This process will start from Falgun 1 and will continue." It does not mean that it will be completed within Falgun. After this, everyone will be able to get an embossed number plate through this process.

Similarly, Director General Ghimire said that those who renew from Jestha 1, 2079 can also apply for a new embossed number plate. He said that all the work would be done as per the law of the state as it is currently under the jurisdiction of the state government.

Ghimire said that there is no need to go to the office to apply for a new number plate while the necessary works are being done online. He said that one can apply at home, pay the revenue and do all the work. Customers only need to visit the office for the biometric work.

All the necessary works for the embossed number plate are already complete in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal, and Surkhet. Similarly, all other offices are also preparing for it.
