Apple’s new M1 powered iPad Pro | Price, Specs, and Features

Apple on their Spring Loaded event launched the new 2021 iPad Pro. Powered by the same M1 chip that powers the latest-gen MacBooks the 2021 iPad is a beast. And in today’s post, we will be looking at all the specifications, availability, and features of the new iPad Pro also we will see the 2021 iPad Pro price in Nepal expected for the Nepali market.

Apple iPad Pro Specifications and Overview

Starting with the display of the new iPad Pro the device comes in two display size options: an 11-inch and a 12.9-inch model. The main difference between the two iPads also comes in their display. 

The 12.9-inch model of the new iPad comes with a new Mini LED screen, which Apple calls the Liquid Retina XDR and according to Apple the display delivers XDR-level brightness. The 2732 x 2048 resolution display has 10,000 Mini LEDs that can peak at 1,000 nits of brightness. The display on the iPad has a contrast ratio of a million to one. On the other hand, the 11-inch model comes with a Liquid Retina display that has a resolution of 2388 x 1688 and peaks at 600 nits of brightness.

The biggest improvements seen by the latest-gen iPads are on the inside of the device. You now get Apple’s 8-core M1 chip on the iPad Pro which is the same chip that powers the latest MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Mini. According to Apple the new M1 chip on the iPad boost the graphics performance by 1,500 times faster than the previous-generation iPad. Also, the M1 chip brings the 16-core Neural engine and an advanced image signal processor to the new iPad Pro. You can pair the chip with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 2TB of internal storage.

The camera on the iPad has also seen some improvements. The added ISP and LIDAR scanner on the iPad Pro is capable of even the small details in low-light conditions as claimed by Apple. The 12MP front-facing camera of the new iPad Pro sees the most upgrade as the camera gives a 120-degree field of view and a TrueDepth camera system which allows the device to unlock through facial recognition. 

You also get a Center Stage function on the camera system of iPad Pro. The feature makes the camera follow you automatically during the video calls.

Going on to the battery of the device you can see a difference between the two models of iPad. The 11-inch model is powered by a 28.65 watt-hour battery whereas the 12-9-inch model is powered by a 40.88 watt-hour battery. Both the models will be shipped with a USB-C charging cable and a 20W USB-C power adapter.

Adding on to the list of features the iPad Pro supports Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. For gaming purposes, the device also supports the PS5 and Xbox controllers with haptics. The most important claim made by Apple is that the whole device uses 100% recycled aluminum. The magnets and speakers on the iPad Pro also include 100% recycled rare earth elements.

The Apple iPad Pro M1 is available in two size models. The smaller 11-inch model starts at Rs.1,29,000, whereas the bigger 12-inch model starts at Rs.1,65,000.
