Tata is set to unveil the long range of its successful electric SUV Nexon on April 20. Tata, which has made an aggressive strategy in electric car production, is about to expand the range of Nexon EV.
TATA NEXON EV Long Range
The Nexon currently available in the market has a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery. It has been reported that the company will provide a 40 kWh battery in the new facelift model. With the new range available, the Nexon EV seems to be the first choice of those who travel long-distance in an electric car.
Although the ARAI-certified range of the Nexon EV currently available in the market is 312 kilometers, according to the consumers, it only provides a 220km range on road. The facelift model is claimed to have a range of more than 400 kilometers.
The company itself hasn’t unveiled any other details of the SUV yet. However, we can confirm that its price will be a bit more expensive than the current model.
Nexon EV, which Sipradi Trading has been selling in Nepal, has become a very successful model. Even now, many Nepali customers in the market have booked it and are on the waiting list. As the range expands, so does the impact on the market.
It is estimated that the price of the Nexon EV coming in the long-range will be around Rs 5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh more than the regular model in Nepal. Sipradi has been selling Nexon EV at a price ranging from Rs 37-41 lakhs in Nepal.
Nexon EV long range rivals: 2022 MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric.

Design
Speaking of the design, the electric SUV directly inherits the design theme from its fuel-based version, Tata Nexon. Styled with a flatter bonnet and a sharper styling infused with the halogen projector headlamps, the Nexon EV looks like a perfect battery-powered SUV. The rear part of the EV also gets a unique and eye-striking design with new LED taillights.
Although an electric vehicle, the Indian automaker doesn't seem to have made any compromise in its styling.

Power and Range
The Nexon EV is powered by a 95kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor delivering a peak power of 127bhp alongside a peak torque of 245Nm. For driving, two different modes are available: Drive Mode and Sports Mode.
The electric SUV is equipped with a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery with a claimed range of 312km. This one takes an hour to charge from 0-80% while using Fast Charger but when on normal charging 8-10 hours is required.
Interior
The dashboard's plastic panel is all black-themed here while the cabin space looks more spacious. Most of the cabin remains unchanged which means you still get features like auto AC, rear AC vents, push-button start, and a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system. What’s new is the addition of goodies like auto headlamps, auto wipers & white leatherette upholstery. Excitingly, Tata has also introduced a sunroof feature on the machine.
Additionally, both the steering wheel and instrument cluster are now shared with the Tata Altroz. So, the driver information system is now a 7-inch screen. By the way, all your electric powertrain-related data (range, charge, energy flow animation, and power flow histogram) is displayed here.
