Innovation in smartphone cameras is seen to be developing at a higher pace. From a single camera, smartphones have now reached up to quad cameras, well we cannot guess what’s next? Well, one thing has been uncertain on smartphone cameras, i.e. action cams.
Smartphones lens have been innovated to capture a wide range of pictures and clips, however, there is no any smartphone which is typically made for capturing action-packed clips. While by Action Cam, we mean, the ones which can click great wide-angle shots, record up to 60fps videos.

However, this might not be the problem anymore as Motorola has recently unveiled the first look of their new smartphone, the Motorola One Action which can probably be called the action cam version of a smartphone.
The upcoming Motorola One Action gets its name because of the action camera integrated into the rear side of the device. The rear camera on the device comprises an ultra-wide-angle lens with 117-degree FOV while this lens is capable of capturing 1080p videos at 60fps.
Also, it is capable of 4-in-1pixel binning meaning it is capable of capturing great images even at low-light conditions while providing good image stabilization too. And if you are not familiar with action cams, they can even shoot landscape videos even when held vertically. Well, imagine using these amazing features in a smartphone, it’s really like a dream come true for action camera lovers.
Additionally, for capturing still images, instead of an action camera, the device uses the 12MP primary camera along with the 5MP depth sensor. This lens is still capable of taking 4K videos at 30fps.
More on, highlighting on the other general features of the Motorola One Action, the device flaunts a 6.3” IPS LCD screen with a punch-hole design. Inside the punch-hole rests a 12MP selfie camera.
Motorola One Action is powered by Exynos 9609 chipset which is coupled with 4GB of RAM. The device has 128GB of internal storage which can further be expanded via microSD card. Furthermore, like most of the smartphones these days, the Motorola One Action will also not feature a 3.5mm headphone jack and speaker at the bottom. The device will be powered by a 3500mAh lithium-ion battery which is quite disappointing as we had hoped Motorola to feature a massive battery.
Price and Availability
The Motorola One Action is now only available in Brazil, Mexico, and some European nations. While talking of the pricing of this device, Moto One Action holds a price tag of €259 (Rs. 33,000/- approx.)
However, the device’s release date in other countries has not been confirmed yet. Well, let’s hope Motorola will talk about that matter soon.
