With the emerging technological advancement, we have seen a variety of smartphones in the market so far. After the recent release of the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X, the smartphone design game has swapped to a whole new level.
Well, with the rising competition of smartphones, the old popular smartphone brand LG is also planning on resting its new smartphone model on the line-up after quite a long time. LG is soon going to release its new smartphone, the LG G8X ThinQ.
Coming to its type, the phone is somewhat very much different than its competitors as it’s a hybrid foldable phone which means the screen of the device doesn’t exactly fold in it but comes with a dual-screen snap-on case. On the device’s case, you will get a standard USB-C port which allows connecting the secondary screen.
Well, let’s have a quick overview of the device.
LG G8X ThinQ Overview
The G8X ThinQ comes in a sleek design with glass on both rear and front side. Like most of the smartphones these days, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner in this device too. And, most importantly the phone comes with military-grade-durability which might allure most of the smartphone enthusiasts.
Coming to the other unique feature of the device, the device is integrated with well-balanced speakers to provide perfect and crisp quality audio located on both the top and bottom of the device. And, don’t worry as the device will also have the regular 3.5mm headphone jack on it which have been killed in most of the phones these days.
More on, highlighting on the display features of the device, the LG G8X ThinQ flaunts a 6.4-inch OLED display which definitely supports Full HD+ resolution. On top of the display, you will get a small water-drop notch. Similarly, you will also find a small 2.1 inch display at the front of the attachable cover which simply displays the time, date and regular notifications from the outside.
Additionally, between the two split screens, there is bezel in between which exactly differentiates them as two different screens. In fact, if you are expecting to watch video on a big widescreen by splitting the display, it’s not exactly designed for that. But the two displays are designed to perform two different tasks on the two screens, for instance, you can stream your favorite movie on one side while chatting with your friends on the other. It’s designed more of, in a multitasking way, rather than providing a tablet-like experience as in the Galaxy Fold.
Seemingly, talking of the camera, the device has a dual-camera setup at its rear which comprises of a 12MP primary sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide lens. The camera comes with lots of alluring features such as AI Action Shot and the new ASMR video recording. On the front, houses a 32MP selfie shooter inside the waterdrop notch.
Now let’s talk about the power engine of the device which is its CPU. The LG G8X Thin Q is powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset which runs on Android 9 Pie OS with the new UX 9.0 on top. And coming to the RAM and internal storage, the device only comes in one variant, i.e. 6/128GB. However, you will receive the option for expandable storage via microSD up to 1TB.
