In recent years there can be seen a bunch of new motorcycles in the Nepali market. These bikes widely vary in terms of their performance, price and the brand itself. Also, compared to four-wheelers, the number of people allured into buying motorcycles is quite higher.
In terms of design, performance, power, and price, the market of two-wheelers in the country is very competitive while day to day two-wheeler business is also reaching its peak. However, if we are talking speak of some of the most like and accepted bikes in the Nepali market, we can break down the number into three.
In this article, we are going to discuss three of the most popular as well as competitive bikes in Nepal which has the highest demand in the two-wheeler market. All of these bikes are somewhat of similar power specs and price while there is also a very high competition among these three. Bajaj Pulsar NS 200, Yamaha FZ-25 and TVS RTR 200 4V are these three.
Well, let’s have a quick glance at their specs and price comparison.
Engine
The Pulsar NS 200 comes with a 199.5 cc liquid cooled engine which produces a power of 23.17bhp at 500rpm while 18.3Nm torque at 8000rpm. It has a 6-speed gearbox integrated into it.
Similarly, the Yamaha FZ-25 is powered by a 249cc air-cooled fuel injected (fi) engine which generates a maximum power of 20.69bhp @ 8000rpm while 20Nm torque at 6000 rpm. The bike’s engine is mated with a 5-speed gearbox.
More on, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V gets a four-valve carburetor engine which can produce a power of 20.2bhp at 500rpm while torque of 18.1Nm at 7000rpm.
Mileage and Top-Speed
The Apache RTR 200 4V and the NS 200 has the same fuel capacity of 12 liters while the Yamaha FZ 25 has a 14-liter tank.
Talking of the mileage, the Pulsar NS 200 can provide a mileage of around 25km/l while its top speed is 136km/hr. Going to the FZ 25, the bike has a mileage of around 30km/hr while its top speed is 143km/hr.
Similarly, the TVS RTR 200 4v provides a mileage of 32 km/hr while the bike’s top speed is 135 km/hr.
Chassis, Wheels, Suspension, and Brake
The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 comes with a pressed steel perimeter framed chassis. Similarly, it gets a 37mm Telescopic Front Fork with Antifriction Bush Suspension on the front and a nitrox Moni shock absorber with piggy back gas canister suspension on the back. The braking of the bike is handled by a 300mm Petal Disc Brake on the front along with a 230mm Petal Disc Brake on the rear. Also, the latest upgraded version of the bike comes with single channel ABS system integrated into it.
Coming to the Yamaha FZ 25, the two-wheeler comes with a diamond chassis. The suspension is handled by Telescopic Fork suspension on the front and a monoshock unit on the rear. Braking is taken care by a 282mm hydraulic single disc brake on the front along with a 220mm hydraulic single disc brake on the rear. The bike also gets a dual-channel ABS integrated with it.
Lastly, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4v comes with Double Cradle Split Synchro Stiff Frame chassis. It also has the telescopic suspension unit on the front and a monoshock unit suspension at the rear. The bike gets a 270mm disc brake on the front while a 249mm disc brake on the rear.
All of these three bikes come with similar 17-inch alloy wheels.
Other unique features
All of these three bikes get LED lights integrated into it. The Pulsar NS 200 gets an analog tachometer on the rider’s front while the other two (RTR 4v and FZ 25) gets a fully digitalized one. However, all of these three get a digitalized instrument cluster on the front.
Similarly, the Yamaha FZ 25 and Apache RTR 200 4v also get a fuel warning indicator feature. Features such as fuel gauge, engine kill switch, clock, digital speedometer, trip-meter count and pass light are included in all of the 3 two-wheelers.
