Suzuki Alto again sets a new record with more than 36 Lakhs units sold

Maruti Suzuki’s most popular car, the Suzuki Alto has again set a new record for being the highest sold car model in India. According to the sales record released by Maruti on Tuesday, it suggests that the firm has sold more than 36 Lakhs units of Maruti Suzuki Alto till today. In fact, the Alto has become the first car model in India to reach this sales figure.

The sales record of the car signifies the vehicle’s popularity among the customers. More on, Alto is consistently being awarded as the best-selling car for the past 15 years. Maruti Suzuki had first introduced the Alto model at the year 2000 while the firm had been able to sell around 10 lakh units of the vehicle up to the year 2008.

And two years later, the company had released another version of the vehicle, named the Alto K10 in the market. And coming to the sales figure, the firm had been able to sell more than 20 lakh units of Alto up to the year 2012.

Suzuki Alto is constantly being upgraded every year. In the year 2014, Suzuki had introduced the All-new Alto K10 while in 2016, it introduced the All-new Alto 800. In the same year, Alto’s customers had reached the figure of 20lakhs.

Well, this year 2019, Maruti Suzuki had introduced the Alto 800 integrated with the new BS6 standard engine in touch with the new Indian Pollution Standards. Likewise, the firm will soon be releasing the K10 model with a similar standard engine. According to Shashank Srivastava, the executive director of Maruti Suzuki India, about 54% of Alto’s customers are first time buyers which is, in fact, a great deal for the company.
