Royal Enfield Scram in Nepal | Full Review and Specifications

Alpha Automotive, the sole distributor for Royal Enfield motorcycles in Nepal has officially confirmed the launch of the much-anticipated RE motorcycle- the Scram 411 in the Nepali market. 

The bike was in talks for a long time since the beginning of 2021 and it was finally launched in India in March 2021. However, the availability of the motorcycle is confirmed in Nepal as well. 

The bike is a Himalayan ADV-based machine that arrives with a different body type.

Although the distributor has officially confirmed the Scram 411’s debut in Nepal, the price of the motorcycle is not unveiled yet. 

Royal Enfield Scram 411 Overview

Although the bike is based on Royal Enfield Himalayan, only its engine and platform are similar, while the other working mechanism of the bike is very different from the ADV. The bike is more road-friendly compared to its adventure sibling. 

Royal Enfield Scram Design

This motorbike is designed to stand out, with a classic yet modern style that appeals to riders of all ages and experience levels.

First on, speaking of the design aspect, it gets a rounded headlight but looks a tad different from the Himalayan. Unlike the frames that connect the tank to the headlamp unit in the Himalayan, the Scram has none of it. However, the overall styling cues are made very similar to that of the RE Himalayan.

The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is a perfect blend of classic and modern design. It's inspired by the classic scrambler motorcycles of the 1960s, but with a contemporary twist.

Moreover, the sleek and clean lines of the bike make it look modern, yet the details and curves add a classic touch. The Scram 411 features a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a low-slung single seat, and high-mounted twin exhausts that give it a distinct character.

The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is also packed with classic design elements that pay homage to the brand's rich heritage. For instance, the bike features a single downtube frame, which is a classic design feature that has been a part of Royal Enfield motorcycles for decades.

The bike also has a round headlight with a chrome bezel, giving it a timeless look. The retro-style analog instrument cluster is another classic touch that adds to the bike's charm.

Royal Enfield Scram Engine and Performance

Apart from its stunning design, the Scram 411 also boasts impressive performance features.

Powering the Scram 411 is a 411cc BS6 engine that delivers a power of 24.3 PS alongside 32Nm of peak torque. 

The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox, which offers a smooth and effortless ride.

Comfortable Riding Position

The Scram 411 is designed to provide a comfortable riding position, even on long journeys. The bike has a slightly upright seating posture, with high-set handlebars that allow for a relaxed and natural grip.

The footpegs are positioned mid-set, making it easy for the rider to find a comfortable foot placement. The bike's ergonomics make it easy for the rider to navigate through traffic, and its low seat height makes it accessible for riders of all heights.

Its high ground clearance, dual-purpose tyres, and long-travel suspension make it a joy to ride on unpaved roads. Additionally, the Scram 411's comfortable seat and easy-to-handle controls make it a great choice for classic motorcycle enthusiasts.

Royal Enfield Scram Braking, Suspension and Wheels

The Royal Enfield Scram 411 boasts impressive suspension and braking systems that ensure a smooth and safe ride on any terrain. The bike is equipped with a 41 mm telescopic fork at the front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear, which provide excellent damping and absorb shocks with ease.

The suspension system is tuned for optimal performance, and it makes the bike capable of handling bumps and rough roads with ease. The Scram 411's suspension also provides excellent stability at high speeds, making it an ideal bike for long rides.

In terms of braking, the Royal Enfield Scram 411 is equipped with a 320 mm disc brake at the front and a 240 mm disc brake at the rear, which provides ample stopping power. Meanwhile, the front brake lever has a progressive feel, which helps in modulation of the brake force.

Moroever, the rear brake pedal is also easy to modulate, allowing the rider to apply the right amount of braking force depending on the situation. The Scram 411 also comes with a dual-channel ABS system, which provides additional safety and helps prevent wheel lock-ups, especially on slippery surfaces.

The bike accelerates on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels unlike the 21-inch front on RE Himalayan. The Royal Enfield Scram 411 offers a single-piece seat unlike the Himalayan.

The bike features an intricately designed engine casing, with elegant fins and details that make it a thing of beauty.

Other feature highlights in the Scram 411 include a halogen headlight with a bulb indicator and an LED taillight. Moreover, it gets a single-pod instrument cluster displaying speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, fuel level indicator, and other information. 

The LED taillight is stylishly integrated into the rear fender, adding to the bike's sleek look. The Scram 411 also comes with premium features like a slipper clutch, which enhances the bike's overall performance.

Royal Enfield is also offering a tripper navigation pod as an optional accessory.
