After a long wait from SUV fans, Malaysian automotive firm proton has finally launched the Proton X70 in the Nepali market. The SUV was scheduled to launch in Nepal back around 2 months ago while it couldn’t launch due to the ongoing lockdown.
However, the company has now officially started the sales of the new X70 after virtually launching it yesterday. The company had earlier brought the Saga sedan to Nepal as their first model from Proton. The new X70 is the company’s second model launched in Nepal.

Proton X70 Overview
The X70 SUV adopts a muscular stance upfront complemented by a vertical grille housing the proton logo. This one gets a minimalistic yet aggressive design theme. Available in 4 different colors: Snow White, Jet Grey, Snow White, and Armour Silver, the Proton X70 matches a perfect look of a premium SUV.
The Proton X70 is powered by a 1.5L Turbo Petrol engine churning out a power of 176bhp at 5500rpm alongside a peak torque of 255 Nm at 4000rpm. The SUV’s engine is mated to a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission.

Variants?
The Proton X70 is available in four different variants: Standard 2WD, Executive 2WD, Executive AWD, and Premium 2WD.
The entry-level Standard variant and the top variant only come with a 2WD option. However, the Executive variant gets 2WD as well as AWD.
The standard variant of the X70 features six airbags, 17-inch alloy wheels, fabric seats, an 8-inch infotainment system, six speakers and a rearview camera.
The Executive variant features LED headlamps with daytime running light, 18-inch alloy wheels, power tailgate, front welcome lamp, leather seat, 8 speakers, and a 360-degree camera.
The premium variant features advanced driver assistance, tire pressure monitor, 19-inch alloy wheels, power tailgate with a foot sensor, premium leather seat, power seat for the front passenger, and 9 speakers. The premium X variant also has a panoramic sunroof.

For safety, all variants include 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, Auto Brake Hold, Traction Control, Hill Descent Control, Autonomous Emergency Brake, Forward Cooling Warning, Cruise Control, Blind Spot Information System, Door Warning, Door Warning and other features like pressure monitor, front parking sensor, rear parking sensor.
