With the OnePlus 10 Pro fully revealed at long last it’s time to see how this new flagship compares to the last year’s OnePlus 9 Pro While it’s still early, the OnePlus 10 Pro looks to be major refreshment of what OnePlus did with the 9 Pro last year. There are new photography tricks to try out, an improved display, an upgraded chipset and a faster charging.

Coming to the design there is no noticeable difference between the front of OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 10 Pro. Both use curved display with camera punch-holes in the top left corner. In the back of the smartphone, the OnePlus 9 Pro has a simple rectangular camera blocked on its top left corner with the logo dividing the larger two lenses from the smaller two. While the OnePlus 10 Pro extends this block over to the left where it curves over to meet the phones side rail and checking on its measurement there are only fractions of millimeter between the height, width and depth of the two devices. Both the devices are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus but only OnePlus 9 Pro features IP68 certification.
Display:
Both the OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 10 Pro feature 6.7-inch AMOLED displays with QHD resolution. However the 10 Pro has a slightly taller panel at 3216 x 1440 pixels compared to the 9 Pro at 3168 x 1440 pixels. Both the devices have adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz, the underlying tech differs. The 9 Pro uses an original version of LTPO display layer whereas 10 Pro uses LTPO 2.0.

Coming to the devices camera the OnePlus has decreased its one camera arming than the OnePlus 9 Pro. Starting from the rear cameras both the 10 Pro and 9 Pro uses 48MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide cameras and 8MP telephoto cameras with 3.3x optical zoom and also OnePlus 9 pro features a 2MP monochrome sensor designed to give additional texture to black and white photos. On the front, there is a little change as 10 Pro uses higher resolution 32MP sensor while 9 Pro uses a 16MP sensor. Coming to the features of 10 Pro is provides features like shoot in RAW format, 10-bit color photography, a Move Mode for more amazing videos and master style photo pre-sets. Coming to 9 Pro the devices features partnership with camera maker Hasselblad, dual LED flash, HDR and more but from the looks of it he OnePlus 10 Pro should be the better camera phone compared to OnePlus 9 Pro.
Performance and memory:
Oneplus has upgraded its processor, where the OnePlus 9 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 888 chipset but the OnePlus 10 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which should offer more power and efficiency. Coming to the storage, the 10 Pro is offering 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage or 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. In China there’s also an 8GB RAM and 256GB variant but the models has not been yet come to the global market. Both of the Snapdragon series comes with 5G compatibility as standard. Here’s the difference between these devices that is the 9 Pro runs on Android 11 whereas the 10 Pro runs on Android 12 and ColorOS 12.

The OnePlus 10 Pro is packed with 5000mAh battery compared to the 4500mAh battery of OnePlus 9 Pro. As for charging OnePlus has improved on the 9 Pro’s already strong 65W wired charging by taking it up to 80W. OnePlus also stated that 10 Pro will go from empty to 100percent in just 32 minutes whereas 9 Pro made it to zero to 99 percent in just 30 minutes when tested. Both the devices feature 50W wireless charging as well. The wireless charging takes 30min to charge the 9 Pro up to 70 percent and 10 pro takes up to 47min to charge fully complete.
Price:
The price of OnePlus 9 Pro is currently available under INR.70000 (Around NPR.120000) according to its storage variant while the global price of OnePlus 10 Pro is still unknown due to the smartphone has not been launched globally yet. The 9 Pro comes with 3 color options morning mist, forest green and stellar black whereas the 10 Pro comes with 2 color options black and green.
