Oben Electric
Oben Electric, a Bengaluru-based business, is planning to offer its flagship e-bike, the Rorr, in Nepal five months after its launch in India. The Rorr will be launched in late August or early September by E-moto, a division of the Golchha Group.
The Oben Rorr is a stylish electric motorcycle with a neoclassical appearance. However, the company is currently only operating in a few places, which means that sales and service will be limited, and the motorcycle has just a few varieties. It has a good performance and a good range of features that are likely to make the trip more comfortable for riders, especially new ones. The Oben Rorr is priced at Rs. 99,999 and may be reserved for Rs. 999.

Overview of Oben Rorr Electric Bike
It can be difficult for a new entry to stand out in a two-wheeler market that is constantly swamped with new EVs. Oben Electric, a Bengaluru-based start-up, has done just that with its recently released electric motorcycle, the Rorr. The bike is priced at Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom, after central and state subsidies) in our home state of Maharashtra, making it Rs 30,000 more reasonable than the Ola S1 Pro and around Rs 40,000 more affordable than both the Ather 450X and another recently released e-bike, the Tork Kratos R.

Range
Oben claims that in its lowest Eco mode, where top speed is limited to 50kph, you should achieve a respectable 150km of real-world range (IDC range is quoted at 200km). Only the Ola S1 Pro claims more, at 165km in real-world use, and this is after receiving an Eco mode in its recent MoveOS 2 update. Previously, its advertised real-world range in Normal mode was 135km.

Performance & Battery
The Rorr's performance from the saddle is quite gratifying, and in Havoc mode, it seems like one of the fastest electric two-wheelers on our roads right now. Oben claims 3 seconds from 0 to 40kph, and acceleration is pretty quick up to roughly 80kph before slowing down. Nonetheless, it manages to attain (and somewhat exceed) the speedo's indicated 100kph.
Even in the lowest Eco mode, you're not a liability on the road - acceleration is fair, and you can reach speeds of up to 50kph, so you can use this mode realistically if you need to eke out as many kilometres as possible.
Oben Rorr Electric Bike Features
- This bike does include a colored negative LCD display that displays basic information, as well as an eSIM and app connectivity.
- There is also an anti-theft system and LED lights throughout.
- The Rorr appears to be a low-quality product.
- There is plenty of evidence throughout the Rorr indicating it was built on a budget.
- In operation, the switchgear and LCD display is still rather problematic and glitchy.
- Simple things like the horn weren't working on a handful of test motorcycles.
- The display frequently flickered and restarted while riding.
