Mahindra BE 6 Launched at NAIMA: Price and Features

In a move that could redefine Nepal’s premium electric SUV segment, Mahindra has officially launched the much-anticipated BE 6 at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025, held at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. Alongside the BE 6, the brand also unveiled the futuristic XUV.e9, both of which mark a bold step into Nepal’s growing EV landscape. Mahindra’s authorized distributor in Nepal, Agni Incorporated Pvt. Ltd, debuted these vehicles for the first time in the country, signaling a new era of electric mobility that combines performance, design, and practicality.

The BE 6’s angular, cyberpunk-inspired design has stolen the show; its performance choices for the Nepali market have sparked debate. Mahindra’s decision to tone down the motor output for Nepal leaves enthusiasts wondering, did they play it safe in a market that’s growing hungrier for raw EV performance?

Price in Nepal

The Mahindra BE 6 is offered in Nepal in three variants, each sharing the same 99 kW motor and 59 kWh LFP battery but differing in feature sets.

  • Pack 1 & Above: Rs. 57,00,000

  • Pack 2: Rs. 61,00,000

  • Pack 3 Selection: Rs. 68,00,000

This pricing positions the BE 6 competitively in Nepal’s mid-to-premium EV SUV segment, undercutting some rivals while still offering a strong mix of range, safety, and premium features.

Design

The BE 6’s design is unlike anything Mahindra has brought before. While some may draw comparisons to the Tesla Cybertruck’s sharp geometry, the BE 6 owns its identity with a sculpted form that merges aggressive lines with refined curves.

At the front, C-shaped DRLs flow into projector headlamps housed within a piano-black fascia, giving it an assertive yet minimalistic stance. The scooped bonnet and aerodynamic ducts are not just for show, they actively channel air to improve cooling and efficiency. The side profile leans towards a coupe-SUV silhouette, offering a balance between athletic flair and everyday practicality.

The rear maintains the drama with split roof spoilers, C-shaped LED tail lights, and bold piano-black accents. Sitting on 19-inch wheels, with ground clearance of about 200 mm, the BE 6 promises both road presence and capability. Available in Red, White, Blue, Orange, Grey, and Black, it’s a vehicle that’s as much about style as it is about function.

Interior

Inside, the BE 6 feels futuristic yet functional. The cockpit-style dashboard and center console align perfectly with the driver’s line of sight, creating a sense of control and connection. Twin 12.3-inch displays, a digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen, anchor the cabin’s tech appeal, with Mahindra’s own dynamic interface.

The steering wheel, an oval twin-spoke design, integrates controls for Boost Mode, regenerative braking, and even one-pedal driving. Roof-mounted aviation-style controls, a thruster-inspired gear selector, and twin wireless charging pads add to the premium, forward-thinking vibe.

Practicality hasn’t been overlooked. The 455-liter boot is complemented by a 45-liter frunk, while ventilated leatherette-fabric seats ensure comfort for all passengers. And for audiophiles, the 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos is a serious upgrade.

Performance and Battery

Here’s where the story takes a turn. Globally, the BE 6 is known for its high-output motors and dynamic driving character. In India, variants can push out at least 170 kW of power and hit a top speed of 202 km/h. In Nepal, however, Mahindra has opted for a single motor configuration producing 99 kW (135 PS) and 380 Nm torque.

Paired with a 59 kWh LFP battery pack, the Nepal-spec BE 6 delivers a respectable range of 557 km (MIDC). Charging times are competitive: around 6 hours for a full charge on an 11 kW AC charger, and just 20 minutes to go from 20% to 80% with a 140 kW DC fast charger.

The decision to tone down performance likely stems from tax considerations and pricing strategy, placing the BE 6 in a more affordable bracket. While practical from a business standpoint, it inevitably changes the driving experience, especially for those expecting the thrill that defined the BE 6’s original identity.

Features

Despite the performance changes, the BE 6 arrives in Nepal loaded with features:

  • Bi-LED projector headlamps with signature C-shaped DRLs

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • Leatherette and fabric ventilated seats

  • 12.3-inch infotainment and digital instrument cluster

  • 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio with Dolby Atmos

  • Heads-up display

  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (L2+ ADAS)

  • 7 airbags and a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating

  • 360-degree camera and brake-by-wire system

Mahindra’s INGLO platform underpins it all, offering flexibility for future EVs, compatibility with over-the-air updates, and safety features designed for global standards.

Competitive Landscape – Rivals and Positioning

The BE 6 enters a segment that’s heating up fast, with rivals like the Tata Curvv.ev and Hyundai Creta Electric already in play. The Creta Electric, while familiar and brand-trusted, lacks the BE 6’s forward-thinking design and driving range. The Curvv.ev offers a stylish, coupe-inspired form and solid specs, but Mahindra’s tech-driven platform gives the BE 6 an edge in innovation. That said, by reducing the motor capacity for Nepal, Mahindra has handed some ground back to the competition. The BE 6’s full potential remains just out of reach here, an opportunity that could have made it an undisputed leader in the segment.

Conclusion

The Mahindra BE 6 brings bold design, modern features, and a strong driving range to Nepal’s EV market. While its motor is toned down compared to the global version, it still offers solid performance, safety, and comfort. In a growing field of electric SUVs, the BE 6 stands out as a stylish and practical choice for buyers who want both innovation and everyday usability.
