Huawei Mobile Nepal has just launched the Huawei Mate 10 Pro in Nepal which is the most expensive Huawei phone to land in Nepal. The Mate 10 Pro comes with 6-inch AMOLED panel and industry-leading Hisilicon Kirin 970 SoC. The price of Huawei Mate 10 Pro in Nepal is Rs.1,04,000. But should you pay over 1 lakh rupees for a Huawei phone? Or should you get the Galaxy Note 8? Let's find out!
The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is the flagship phone from Huawei and is one of the best phones of 2017. It was launched internationally in November of 2017 but in Nepal, the company unveiled the device at CAN Info-Tech 2018. Better late than never, right?
The Mate 10 Pro has a plethora of features which you will find only on the top-dog Android phones like the Pixel 2 XL, Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Here's a quick run-down of the specs of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro:

Huawei Mate 10 Pro is an excellent all-rounder with a beautiful design, crisp AMOLED display, excellent performance and one of the best rear cameras on any smartphone. And the 4000mAh battery is also the largest in any flagship phone of 2017. And these are the features that the company is pushing as the highlight of the phone.

A big 4000mAh battery is something that we often see in mid-range smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and the Coolpad Cool1. But it's a rarity to see such a large battery powering a flagship phone. And here we are, with the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, which has got a 4000mAh battery. The battery endurance of the Mate 10 Pro is one of the best in the industry, thanks also to the use of powerful yet frugal HiSilicon Kirin 970SoC.
Talking about the in-house HiSilicon Kirin 970, it is another highlight of the phone. The company is branding the SoC as the AI-powered SoC which will get better with time. The company also claims that unlike most of the other Android phones and iPhones which slow down with time, the Mate 10 will perform better. Huawei engineers have developed the Kirin 970 in such a way that it will learn the usage pattern of the user and optimize apps on the phone accordingly.
The benchmark score of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is also solid. The HiSilicon 970 performs similarly to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and the Exynos 8895. The 12-core Mali-G72 GPU is also on par with the Adreno 540 (Snapdragon 835 SoC) and the 20-core G71 (Exynos 8895).
You can't talk about Huawei Mate 10 Pro without talking about the cameras on the phone. As per the recent trend, the phone comes equipped with dual rear cameras. However, unlike many of the dual-camera system where the second camera just sits there doing nothing, the secondary camera on the Mate 10 Pro does some serious work.
On the rear, a 12MP sensor sits behind f/1.6 lens which is the primary camera on the phone. The secondary camera has a 20MP sensor which too is equipped with f/1.6 lens. Using the two cameras and AI, the phone takes breath-taking photos and videos.
The only downside of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro has to be its price. At over one lakh, it's really hard to swallow the price. And the fact that, for that much money, you can get some excellent phones from more reputed brands makes it difficult to recommend this phone. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Samsung Galaxy S8+ and the iPhone 8 Plus all are solid phones which can all be had for less money. If you don't care a bit about brand image, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro may be a phone to look out for. If not, I recommend you to check out the alternatives.
