The conversion kit required to convert the Hero Splendor to electric has been certified by the Automobile Research Association of India (ARAI). In addition, its electric conversion kit, launched by Gogo A1 in Mumbai in September last year, has gained legitimacy.
The Gogo A1 said the Hero Splendor could be safely converted to the electric version and that the converted bike would have a range of 151 kilometers. The price of the kit is INR 35,000 excluding batteries and INR 95,000 including batteries, as per the company. An insurance policy has also been arranged for the electric bike converted using this kit.

The Gogo A1's EV kit will include a 2-kilowatt electric motor, a 2.8-kilowatt-hour battery pack, a DC-DC converter, a new accelerator wiring, and a key switch with a controller box, and a new wing arm. It is claimed that the electric bike converted using these pieces of equipment will deliver 3.4-kilowatt power.

The kit is only allowed to be used for Hero Splendor, which has been produced since 1997. As the Splendor is the best-selling two-wheeler model in the Indian market, it can be converted to an EV at a low cost, which is expected to further help the customers and concerned stakeholders in the EV movement.
