What is Google Glass?
Google Glass is a brand of smart glasses—an optical head-mounted display designed in the shape of a pair of eyeglasses. It was developed by X (previously Google X) with the mission of producing a ubiquitous computer. Google Glass displayed information in a smartphone-like, hands-free format. Wearers communicated with the Internet via natural language voice commands.
Simply, it is a small, lightweight wearable computer with a transparent display that brings information into your line of sight.
Google Glass Edition 2
As Google has already released its first edition in the year 2013 which mostly hyped the European market, well, this time this American tech giant is soon launching the second edition of their amazing eye-wearable device, the Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2.
This time Google has wreaked a considerable innovation in the eyewear, as it will now come with improved camera, USB Type-C port and safety frames, unlike the previous version. The firm has also claimed that the new Google Glass Enterprise will improve the efficiency of their employees.
More on to integrate with advanced power saving feature support computer vision and advanced Machine Learning, the new edition of Google Glass is built on with Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 along with multi-core CPU. For advanced support, Google has also added Android Enterprise Mobile Device Management in the eye-wear.
The wearable will be getting 820 mAh battery which may last around 8-9 hours on a complete charge. Coming to the camera, this time the device will have an 8MP lens with 720p video shooting support. Well, it looks like there has been no change in the display as it will come with the similar 640x360 resolution display as the first edition. The device will run on the old Android 8.1 Oreo.
Google sells the eye-wearable device with "Glass for Work" partners which are authorized to develop and deliver enterprise solutions for Glass customers.
When the wearable was first released by Google in 2013, people had realized that it could not be a safety gadget for their daily life as it involved many health and safety concerns while the built-in camera in the device had also some issues regarding the disclosure of privacy facets.
Lastly, coming to the pricing, the new Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 will be approaching with a price tag of $999 which is quite expensive but could be a value for money for the one who really wants to own a smart eye-wear, isn’t it?
