The DOTM Nepal had recently published a notice regarding the mandatory rule to install embossed number plates in all vehicles.
The sudden notice by the government within such a few time has left all the vehicle owners like us in a dilemma and some of us have also sharply criticized the rule as well.
And when such a strict directive has come against us, it is very likely that vehicle owners like us are very anxious and edgy about the matter.
However, there is a strong confusion among the fellow riders on how the new embossed number plate rule is going to be executed and for whom the strict action will be taken against.
Well, we’ll clear that to you all in today’s article.
For which type of vehicle is the new Embossed Number Plate rule a compulsion?
As of the new statement by the government, the new rule is not compulsory for all the vehicles registered in Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces (as understood before.)
Instead, the rule is mandatory only for three types of vehicles before July 17 (Shrawan 1, 2079 BS)
- For vehicles purchased after Mangshir 1st, 2078 B.S.
- For vehicle owners whose ownership transfer is carried out after Falgun 1st, 2078 B.S.
- For vehicles renewed after Jestha 1, 2079 B.S.
[Note: Deadline for the new embossed number plate installation in the above-mentioned vehicles is before Shrawan 1, 2079 BS]
