The company's brand-new FPV drone, the DJI Avata, which was unveiled in late August 2022, is now offered in Nepal. The DJI FPV was released last year, and the DJI Avata is the company's second first-person-view (FPV) drone.
Both novices and professionals can use Avata. The DJI Motion Controller and DJI Goggles 2 are intended to be used in conjunction with it. The DJI Avata FPV drone will be covered in greater detail below, along with its specifications, features, most recent price, and availability in Nepal.
Overview
The DJI Avata FPV drone is ready to replace its predecessor thanks to its better camera and quality and performance. It works with the DJI Motion Controller and DJI Goggles 2, but it also works with the FPV Remote Controller 2 and FPV Googles V2 made by the same company.
A camera system found on the DJI Avata is comparable to that found on the Mini 3 Pro. There is a single 48MP CMOS sensor inside, and it has a 155° angle of view and 1/1.7′′ optic format.
The shutter speed goes from 1/50s to 1/8,000s, and the sensor has an ISO rating of 100 to 25,600. Additionally, Avata employs 4-in-1 pixel binning, a technique that merges the data from four pixels into one.
The drone can capture airborne images and videos at up to 4K/60 frames per second and slow-motion footage at 2.7K/100 frames per second. The Rock Steady and Horizon Steady modes are supported, and it also includes gimbal stabilization.
Three operating modes—Normal, Manual, and Hybrid—can be employed with the Avata. The FPV drone functions in Normal mode like other DJI drones equipped with satellite technology or visual positioning technologies.
Only the FPV Remote Controller 2 is capable of manually operating the DJI Avata. It offers total control over the flight, as the name would imply, for a fully immersive FPV experience. With the ability to move in a dynamic way and safety elements from the Normal mode, the Hybrid mode offers a combination of both.
The DJI Avata only has a 2420mAh battery. The trip lasts 18 minutes and travels at a speed of 27 meters per second, claims the manufacturer. The drone should be able to travel 11.6 km in that time thanks to this.
The DJI Avata has built-in propeller protectors that keep the blades from damage. This indicates that it can deal with small impacts. The drone can flip over if it is upside down after a crash if you use the Turtle mode.
The drone weighs 410 grams, which is much less than the DJI FPV's 795 grams. The drone includes two straight-down sensors for its downward vision system as well as an infrared sensor. The DJI FPV featured forward sensors, but this device does not.
When you purchase the bundle, DJI's most recent flight control headset, the DJI Goggles 2, and the DJI Motion Controller are included. According to the motion of your hand, the DJI Motion Controller controls the drone. The DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 and DJI FPV Goggles V2 are currently in use, and both are compatible with the Avata.
DJI Goggles 2
The package includes a video headset called the DJI Goggles 2. It has a micro-OLED display with movable toric lenses. If you typically wear glasses, you can get rid of them thanks to the adjustable toric lenses.
The headgear incorporates a touch panel on its side that enables one-handed operation of its settings. The DJI Avata uses DJI O3+ transmission, which debuted in the DJI Mavic 3, to send video in 1080p/100 frames per second with H.265 decoding.
With a transmission distance of up to 10 kilometers and a delay of as little as 30 milliseconds, the Goggles 2 can transmit data. Additionally, it has a high bitrate of 150Mbps and can automatically switch between two frequencies.
DJI Motion Controller
Flight control equipment, such as the DJI Motion Joystick, may resemble a controller for a video game. You can maneuver the drone with just one hand thanks to the motion-control technology in this device. The drone can be stopped and hovered in place using the emergency brake button on the controller.
