HMSI followed closely with 368,409 units, just 26,493 units behind Hero MotoCorp. This close competition indicates that while HMSI is catching up in wholesale figures, Hero MotoCorp still holds a strong lead in retail sales.

Performance of Other Manufacturers

Bajaj Auto came in fourth with 143,330 units, followed by Suzuki Motorcycle India with 79,881 units. Notably, Suzuki Motorcycle India achieved its highest-ever monthly sales in July 2024. Understanding the Difference Between Wholesale and Retail Sales

It’s important to distinguish between wholesale and retail sales. Wholesale numbers represent the units despatched from the manufacturers' plants, while retail sales are the actual number of vehicles registered by customers. The disparity between these two figures can provide insights into the demand and market dynamics for each brand. Hero MotoCorp's continued dominance in retail sales suggests strong consumer demand and brand loyalty, despite the challenges it faces in wholesale distribution.

Conclusion:

Hero MotoCorp remains the leader in two-wheeler retail sales for July 2024, underscoring its strong market presence. While HMSI has shown impressive growth in wholesale numbers, Hero MotoCorp’s continued dominance in retail sales highlights its deep connection with consumers. As the competition intensifies, the coming months will be crucial in determining how these two giants perform in both wholesale and retail markets.
