HH Bajaj, the official distributor of Bajaj bikes in Nepal has finally launched the new Pulsar N160 in the Nepali market. The motorcycle arrives with some cool features while borrowing its looks from its older sibling- Pulsar N250.
Let’s have a quick overview of Pulsar’s new 160cc machine.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Overview
Design
First on, the motorcycle borrows its design from Pulsar N250. The front fascia of the motorcycle looks like Yamaha’s MT-15. It boasts an LED projector headlight alongside an LED DRLs. The body elements of the motorcycle look very similar to that of the NS200. Moreover, the muscular body accompanied by an aggressive body styling makes the motorcycle look very much furious.
Power and Performance
Powering the Bajaj Pulsar N160 is a 164.82cc BS6 engine that delivers a peak power of 15.68bhp alongside a peak torque of 14.65 Nm. The motorcycle’s engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox transmission.
Braking and Suspension
The braking duties in the new Pulsar N160 are handled by dual disc brakes on both wheels. In addition, there is also an option for an Anti-lock braking system. Bajaj offers both Single-Channel ABS and Dual-Channel ABS features in the machine. This feature remains the positive side for the N160 compared to its other sibling, NS 160 which only offers single-channel ABS.
The dual-channel variant of the N160 is equipped with a 300mm front disc accompanied by a 230mm rear disc. Similarly, the single-channel variant of the motorcycle is offered a smaller 230 mm rear and a 280mm front disc.
In the same way, the suspension for the Pulsar N160 is operated using conventional telescopic front forks alongside a mono-shock unit at the rear.
Features
Coming on to the quirky features, the motorcycle boasts a semi-digital instrument cluster like the Pulsar N250. The other similar features to the N250 include split grab rails, Y-shaped alloy wheels, twin vertical LED tail lamps, and so on. Additionally, there is also an option for a USB charging port for riders. The semi-digital instrument cluster displays fuel economy, gear position, range, clock, and other features.
The petrol in the Bajaj Pulsar N160 is filled in the 14-liter fuel tank.
The dual-channel variant weighs around 154 kg while the single-channel model scales at 152 kg.
