The Bagmati Provincial Office of Transport Management has implemented a new arrangement for vehicle tax renewal. The office has made an arrangement to pay the annual vehicle tax for five years at a time.
Previously, the renewal had to be done every year, but now the service recipients can pay the fee for 5 years at a time if they want. This seems to benefit many riders.
10% discount on tax with the same tax rate for 5 years
According to the Transportation Management Office, Hetauda, renewal of 5 years at a time can give double benefit to the service recipients. Provision has been made for the service recipients to pay the fee for 5 years according to the existing tax rate. Riders will not have to pay the increased amount if the tax is increased within 5 years and will also get a 10 percent exemption from the total vehicle tax if it is renewed at once.
Raju Aryal, information officer at the Transportation Management Office, Hetauda, said, "We have given a 10 percent discount to customers who pay the tax for five years at a time." The annual tax has been increasing every year in the last year. In this way, the customer who pays the tax at once does not have to pay the increased amount. '
The customer is required to ensure third-party vehicle insurance for at least one year while paying annual tax for 5 years at a time. Information Officer Aryal said that insurance for the other four years has not been made compulsory. Aryal says, "Third-party insurance is for the benefit of the service recipients. We have not made it mandatory. However, the insurance is for the rider’s own benefits.”
The Bagmati Provincial Office has stated that this facility will be applicable to both cars and motorcycles.
