Introduction
Honda, a Japan-based automaker, debuts its first e-scooter EM1 e in the global market. It was first unveiled at the EICMA 2022 in Milan, Italy a few weeks back. As per the company, the EM in the model name stands for Electric Moped. Likewise, the scooter is designed for city rides and it will compete with the likes of Ola, TVS IQube, and Hero Vida.
With that said, let’s take a look at the expected features and specs of the brand-new 2023 Honda EM1 e.
Design
The 2023 Hona EM1 e looks similar to the moped, however, it lacks a pedal. The e-scooter gets smooth styling and will have futuristic design elements such as LED lighting and square panels. The white and black gloss color contrast gives an e-scooter a classic look. Overall, the scooter looks slim and compact. Nevertheless, there are intelligent design details to notice on it. For instance, it receives a large luggage carrier. Additionally, the footboard area is larger making it easier to carry luggage.
Battery and Performance
The new e-scooter comes equipped with a swappable battery pack which has been termed as Honda Mobile Power Pack (MPP). The battery pack can be removed from the scooter and can be charged at home. Likewise, the scooter is expected to feature a hub-mounted motor. However, details about the motor, battery, peak power, and peak torque are not available at this point.
Moving on, the company claims that the scooter offers a range of 45-50 Km on a single charge. Similarly, the vehicle is designed for a slow drive and can speed up to 45 Km/h.
Suspension and Braking
The suspension duties in the motorcycle are handled by a telescopic front suspension in conjunction with Dual shock absorbers. Besides, the scooter gets a disc brake at the front tire, alloy wheels, automatic transmission, and a small infotainment display.
