The German auto giant has finally revealed the first look of its upcoming facelift, the 2022 sixth-gen Volkswagen Polo. The current iteration of VW Polo is the fifth one while this is the ongoing model we are currently witnessing in the Indian and Nepali market.

Exterior Design
Highlighting the front aspect, the carmaker has kept the design subtle on the front while some noticeable upgrades can be discerned on its rear. The 2022 Volkswagen Polo now gets new LED headlights upfront alongside a light strip connected to the grille. Likewise, the taillights on the back are also reshaped.

Interior
Coming on to the interior, the dashboard layout of the 2022 VW Polo is basic like that of the ongoing model. However, Volkswagen has added some extra features on the layout brought from the larger VW SUVs.
This includes the touch-based climate control system as in the facelifted Tiguan and the steering design of the recently launched Volkswagen’s ID electric car. More on, the touchscreen size has also increased to 9.2-inches now.
Moreover, other notable features include Matrix LED headlamps, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Support, dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, keyless entry with push-button start, and so on. In terms of safety, you will be getting dual airbags up front, along with ABS with EBD, front-rear parking sensors, and ESC (Electronic Stability Control).

Engine and Performance
Under the new-gen Volkswagen Polo’s hood, you will discern a 1.0L petrol engine with three power options—an 80PS MPI unit, a 95PS TSI unit, or a 110PS TSI unit. The MPI variant comes mated with a 5-speed manual transmission while the other trims get 7-speed DCT gearbox options.
In the case of the Indian market, the 2022 Volkswagen Polo facelift is likely to receive a 115PS 1.0L TSI petrol engine mated with either a 6-speed manual or torque converter automatic gearbox option.

Price and Availability
As per reports, the sixth-gen Polo Facelift is likely to hit the Indian market by 2023, unpinned by the localized MQB-A0 IN platform. As far as pricing is concerned, the new-gen VW Polo might arrive at a starting price tag of around INR 7 lakhs ranging up to 9.99 lakhs for the top variant.
