According to the reports of Strategy Analytics, Xiaomi was the number one smartphone vendor in Europe in the second quarter of 2021. The Chinese smartphone company overtook Samsung becoming the best-selling smartphone vendor with 25.3% of the market share in Europe. Xiaomi now has overtaken both Apple and Samsung in the same quarter on the Global and European markets respectively.
Xiaomi Shipped 12.7 million phones in the Q2 of 2021 gaining a 25.3% market share in Europe. According to the reports, Xiaomi has seen success in countries like Russia, Ukraine, Spain, and Italy, where they have found consumers eager for its Mi and Redmi series of feature-rich, value smartphones.

Samsung on the other hand saw its smartphone shipments drop by 7% year on year. The Korean company shipped 12 million units of smartphones and covered 24% of the market share in Europe. Apple saw itself in the top 3 shipping 9.6 million smartphones and covering 19.2% of the market.
“Samsung is performing well with new 5G models from the Galaxy A series, but it faces increasing competition from Apple in the high-end and the Chinese vendors in the low-end, and it failed to take advantage of Huawei's demise in Europe”. - Neil Mawston, Executive Director at Strategy Analytics
OPPO captured a 5.6% market share on the back of the popular OPPO A and Reno series. Rounding out the European top 5, Realme had a breakthrough quarter with the newly launched Realme 8 series, shipping 1.9 million units in Q2 2021.
