Geely will introduce Google Gemini, Google Maps and Google Play across its vehicles in overseas markets starting in the second half of 2027.
Geely Holding Group announced the global partnership with Google on 16 October 2026, covering the development of a digital cockpit ecosystem for its passenger vehicle brands in international markets where Google services are available.
What drivers get
Three Google services sit at the centre of the integration.
Gemini handles voice-based assistance, Google Maps takes care of navigation, and Google Play provides access to apps.
Beyond the basics, drivers will be able to search for destinations, locate nearby charging stations and manage routine tasks through the system.
When and in what
The first vehicle equipped with Google services is expected to reach global markets in the second half of 2027.
Geely has not yet disclosed which model gets it first.
What the partnership includes
Google Gemini for voice assistance
Google Maps for navigation
Google Play for app access
Destination search and charging station location
Routine task management through the system
Rolling out in international markets where Google services are available
First vehicle expected in the second half of 2027
Model not yet announced
Which brands this could reach
Geely Holding Group runs one of the broadest brand portfolios in the industry.
That includes Geely, Geely Galaxy, Zeekr, Lynk & Co, Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Smart, Proton and Riddara, among others.
The announcement covers passenger vehicle brands in overseas markets, so the scope could eventually be considerable given how many badges sit under the group.
Building the in-car ecosystem
The Google deal continues a pattern of Geely expanding what its cars can do beyond driving.
Zeekr, the group's premium brand, has previously partnered with AirConsole for in-car gaming, and with 3 Screen Solutions to develop a digital media platform built on Android Automotive OS.
Why it matters
The limitation worth noting is in the announcement itself. This applies to markets where Google services are available, which excludes China, Geely's largest market by a wide margin.
So this is specifically an export strategy. Geely has been pushing hard into international markets, and a familiar Google interface removes one of the friction points for buyers unfamiliar with Chinese infotainment systems.
For Nepali buyers, Geely Galaxy models have been arriving through the broader wave of Chinese vehicle imports. Nothing has been confirmed about which markets receive the Google integration or when, but Nepal falls within the territory where Google services operate normally.
