Indian EV maker, Ather has officially launched its much-awaited smart scooter- 2022 Ather 450X Gen 3 in the Indian market. The electric scooter is launched at a starting price of INR 1.39 lakhs in the Indian market.
This is the third iteration of the popular model Ather 450X.
The Bengaluru-based EV maker also claims the new Ather 450X to be the best-ever 450X so far. The new scooter arrives with host of upgrades in the features alongside vital improvements in overall performance as well.
Well, without any delay let’s dig into the features and specs of the scooter.
Ather 450X Features and Upgrades?
The major upgrade in the new Ather 450X is its battery. The premium scooter now adopts a 3.7kWh battery which is 25% larger than its previous iterations. After the battery upgrade, the Ather 450X Gen 3 now offers a top range of 146 km on a single charge (based on the ARAI certification date).
However, as per practical usage, the scooter could last up to 105 km on a full charge.
For riding, there are 5 different modes available- Warp, Sport, Ride, SmartEco, and Eco. Among all, the maximum power output is available in Warp mode, i.e. 8.7 bhp of power.

Moreover, coming on to the other major updates. First on, the scooter arrives with an all-aluminum frame and a rear tyre with a wide profile. The tyre does have at least 22% more grip than that on the previous version.
Speaking of the smartness, the scooter continues to boast the big 7-inch screen up front but the internals is twisted. It now gets 2GB RAM followed by a new Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
As per Ather Energy, the higher RAM in the EV now will allow the ride to work smoother even at a higher temperature. This also unlocks the vehicle’s possible to integrate new options in the future such as voice commands, alluring graphics, more diagnostics features, smoother applications, and so on.
In the same way, the smart scooter also gets a new set of rearview mirrors with a unique design. The company claims the new mirror offers 2x better visibility compared to the previous models. A new update in the model is the side stand as well.
The scooter features a boot space of 22 liters.

Variants?
The new Gen 3 Ather is available in two variants- Ather 450X and 450 Plus. Both of them feature the same battery unit whie the 450X offers 6.2kW power output and the 450 Plus offers 5.4kW power output. The torque figures remain at 26Nm and 22Nm respectively.
