What is Pathao??
Pathao is one of the hot topics in Nepal. Providing rides for the public at a reasonable fare has made the online vehicle for hire company a popular name. Not only providing service Pathao has also created working opportunities for many people of the country. The fact that a person can book a ride from the comfort of where they are and don't need to bargain around for the travel fare seems to have attracted a lot of people towards Pathao.
Pathao is a Bangladeshi on-demand digital platform and vehicle for hire company whose headquarter is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. On September 12th of 2018, Pathao announced its launch in Kathmandu, Nepal. Pathao charges a base fare of Rs.30 and an additional Rs.15 per Km. Basically, if you want to travel to a destination that is about 5KM away from you it will most likely cost you around Rs.105.
So, let’s jump right into how to get started and book a Pathao ride.

Getting started with Pathao
Step 1: Download the Pathao app
The app is available on both the Play Store and App Store. You can simply search for Pathao and install the app.
Step 2: Select Language
Pathao supports both English and Nepali choose your preferred language and click the next button that appears and get started.
Step 3: Ente your phone number
Select your region to Nepal and enter your phone number. You can also choose to continue with your Facebook ID but it is much easier when you use your phone number instead.
Step 4: Enter the code Pathao sends
When you enter your phone number and continue Pathao will send a message containing a code in the phone number you provided. Enter that code and continue.
Step 5: Locate me
Click on the locate me icon that appears then the Pathao app will ask you to access the device location. Allow the access so you can get the ride on your doorstep when you book the Pathao ride.
Step 6: You can now use the app
When Pathao locates your location it will send you to its home page from where you can book a ride, order foods, and other good stuff. You can also set your home address or your office on the home page for your convenience.

How to Book a Pathao Ride
Step 1: Turn on your device location
First, turn on your device location so that the riders near you can be located. Also, the app itself will ask you to turn on the location of your device if your device location is off when you open the app.
Step 2: Open the app and choose your preferred vehicle
Open the app and you will be on the Pathao home page and at the top of the app’s interface, you will find the option of a bike or car and you can choose the one you prefer.
Step 3: Search and select your destination
When you choose between a bike or a car you then will be sent to the section to choose your destination. Search for your destination and put the red marker on the place you want to go on the map and then tap on Confirm Destination.
Step 4: Send pickup request
When you confirm your destination you will then get the fare it will cost to reach your destination. Tap on Send Pickup Request to notify the Pathao riders near you.
Step 5: Wait for a Pathao rider to accept your request
When you send the pickup request it will notify the riders around your area and when one of the riders accepts your request the details like the rider's name, phone number, and bike details like number, color, and type will appear on the screen of your mobile.
Step 6: Wait for the Pathao rider to arrive at your location
When you get the details of the rider who accepted your request, you can expect a call from the rider themselves to confirm the ride and your location.
And as simply like this, you have now booked a Pathao ride. A Pathao rider wearing Pathao wear will arrive at the location and give you a call and will leave you to your destination. When you reach the destination you can pay the ride fare through cash or online payments. Rider after receiving the fare will send a confirmation about the ride being completed to Pathao and you will receive an option to rate the rider.
