To be called the "Intruder", the bike has to be good, really good. The brand name "Intruder" carries a heritage and a big one that too. The Suzuki Intruder has been in production since 1985 and this is the first Intruder to come in under 200cc segment. The Intruder M1800R is the flagship bike from the family line churning out 127hp power and 160nm of torque.
For the diehard fans out there, they will buy the Suzuki Intruder 150 just out of sheer nostalgia. But if you look closely, the new Intruder 150 has DNA that is more Gixxer like and less Intruder 1800R like.
The Suzuki Intruder 150 borrows the same single-cylinder engine from the Gixxer 150 and is mated to the same 5-speed gearbox. The engine churns out 14.14ps of power which is slightly less than that of the Gixxer.
| Engine Displacement | 154.9cc |

The new Suzuki Intruder competes with Bajaj Avenger Street 150 and Bajaj Avenger Street 220. The other competitor of the Suzuki Intruder has to be one of its own sibling, the Suzuki Gixxer SF. The two bikes fall in the same price segment and also share the same engine.
The design of the Suzuki Intruder is polarizing. You will either love the design of the bike or hate it. Me, personally, I am really not a big fan of the design of the bike. The dimensions of the bike are imposing but when you figure out that the bike houses a puny 150cc engine, it's an immediate turn-off. It seems that the designers behind the bike really wanted to give this bike a beefy look, reminiscent of its 1800cc sibling.
The bike's design is dominated by the bulbous fuel tank cover which is largest in its segment. Surprisingly enough, the actual fuel tank capacity is only 11L. A larger fuel tank would have made more sense as the company is advertising the bike as a cruiser. 11L fuel-tank just isn't going to cut it for long highway trips.
The side-view of the bike is somewhat pleasing. The twin exhausts and the muscular body design will definitely turn heads! The only question is whether people will like what they see or not.
The thing to love about the Suzuki Intruder 150 is the standard fitment of the bike with a single channel ABS (on the front wheel). There's also disc brake both on the front and the back wheels as standard. There's also the all-LCD instrumental cluster which is borrowed down from the Gixxer.
The Suzuki Intruder 150 is hitting Nepal by the end of January and will be priced around Rs. 300,000 according to the representative of the company.
