ARCFOX T1 Electric Hatchback Is Coming to Nepal: Debut Set for NAIMA Expo This August

ARCFOX, the electric vehicle brand under China's state-owned BAIC Group, is set to make its official Nepal debut at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026. The event runs from August 11 to 16 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. Laxmi e-Mobility has secured the official distribution rights for ARCFOX in Nepal ,  the same group currently handling BAIC and Hyundai in the country ,  making this a well-backed entry rather than a tentative market test.

The model confirmed for debut is the ARCFOX T1, a compact electric hatchback that went on sale in China in late 2025. Built around ARCFOX's Arc-Flow design philosophy, the T1 sits at the premium end of the compact EV hatchback segment and is expected to compete directly against the Chery QQ3, which is also scheduled to debut at the same expo. Both models will be fighting for the same buyer ,  someone looking for a feature-rich urban EV with a credible range, and the head-to-head at Bhrikutimandap is shaping up to be one of the more interesting matchups of this year's auto show season.

Design

The T1 makes a strong first impression. A full-width LED light strip runs across the front face, connecting both headlight clusters and giving the car a wide, confident stance. Semi-hidden door handles, a black contrasting roof covering the A, B, and C pillars, and a V-shaped taillight design at the rear complete a look that is sharper and more considered than most things in its class. Eighteen-inch alloy wheels and a subtle rear spoiler round out the exterior. Six paint options are available globally, white, blue, silver, green, purple, and gray, though which options come to Nepal will be confirmed at the expo.

Dimensions and Space

The T1 is larger than its A0-class positioning might suggest. It measures 4,337 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,572 mm in height, with a 2,770 mm wheelbase. That translates into a genuinely spacious interior: up to 1,004 mm of headroom, 934 mm of rear legroom, and 459 litres of boot space with the rear seats up, expanding to 1,352 litres when folded flat. An additional 74 litres of under-floor storage sits beneath the boot floor. The T1 also features a one-click front seat flattening function, converting the cabin into a flat lounge area, a feature increasingly common in Chinese EVs but still unusual at this price point internationally.

Powertrain and Battery

In China, the T1 is offered with two powertrain configurations: a 70 kW (94 hp) and a 95 kW (127 hp) electric motor, paired with 33.4 kWh and 42.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs. ARCFOX rates these at 320 km and 425 km respectively on the Chinese CLTC test cycle. LFP chemistry is generally well regarded for long-term battery health, thermal stability, and longevity compared to other battery types in this segment.

Which specific variant Laxmi e-Mobility will introduce in Nepal has not been announced. Official range figures, charging specifications, and local variant details are all expected to be confirmed at the expo debut.

Features and Technology

The T1's interior is dominated by a 15.6-inch central touchscreen paired with an 8.8-inch digital instrument panel, a screen package that punches well above the car's segment. A built-in AI voice assistant is standard, and a 2.34-square-metre panoramic sunroof adds to what is a well-equipped cabin by any measure at this class.

On the safety and driver assistance front, ARCFOX claims the T1 is the first in its class to feature low-speed intelligent assisted steering, reducing the vehicle's turning diameter by 30 cm for a minimum turning radius of 5.2 metres. The car also comes equipped with a 540-degree panoramic imaging system, Level 2 ADAS covering 12 active safety functions, and an automatic parking system that supports 58 different parking scenarios with a claimed success rate above 95%.

What to Expect at the Expo

The NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 is shaping up to be one of the busiest in recent years, with over 55 brands confirmed across passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles. For the compact EV segment specifically, the arrival of multiple new models simultaneously, including the T1, Chery QQ3, Proton e.MAS 5, and Wuling Mini EV, marks a significant shift in the options available to Nepali buyers.

Official pricing, available variants, and after-sales details for the ARCFOX T1 in Nepal will be revealed at the expo. Until then, the T1 arrives as one of the most anticipated debuts of August.
