Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip
This year there is no Exynos variant of the S23 Ultra. Samsung has gone with just a Snapdragon chipset for the S23 series. So, you get Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, but it’s slightly overclocked.
The Snapdragon Gen 2 chip on this phone has a Cortex-X3 core, running at up to 3.36GHz, slightly higher than the usual maximum of 3.2GHz. Besides, the Adreno 740 GPU here also has a higher clock speed of 719MHz, up from 680MHz.
This custom-tuned Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is specially made for Samsung. The company is marketing the chip as the world’s fastest Snapdragon and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy.
Display
It features a 6.8-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 1750 nits brightness. However, the smarter Vision Booster can now adapt to a wider range of lighting conditions that improve battery efficiency.

Camera
The camera section of the S23 Ultra sees the most improvement. From 108MP main camera on the S22 Ultra, you now have the 200MP ISOCELL HP2 primary sensor on the S23 Ultra. It is a 1/1.3” sensor with 0.6µm pixels, which by default, uses 16:1 pixel binning to capture 12 MP photos. Alternatively, it can combine its pixels 4-to-1 to produce a 50MP image.
The most talked about feature of this main camera is its low light performance, which Samsung calls Nightography. This advanced camera sensor, combined with the custom-tuned Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, reduces noise in low light for stunning photos and videos. Besides, there's also a new Astro Hyperlapse video mode, which according to Samsung, transforms a starry sky into a work of art.
Furthermore, video stabilization also gets an improvement with the Adaptive VDIS that can now correct around 3° of shake, up from 1.5° of the S22 Ultra. So, with the S23 Ultra, you can shoot smooth and sharp 8K videos at 30fp, up from 24fps.
The other remaining sensors on the S23 Ultra are—a 12MP ultra-wide lens with 120˚FoV, a 10MP telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Upfront is a 12MP front-facing camera, a drop-down from 40MP on the S22 Ultra, but according to many S23 Ultra reviews takes much better images.
Pen
Just got a lot more thrilling to use your phone. The beautiful S Pen, available in colors that match your device, is the best way to improve your Galaxy S23 Ultra experience, whether you're taking amazing photos with camera shutter control or navigating functions with Air Command.
Battery Life
Talking about the battery, you get the same 5000mAh cell with support for 45W fast charging. There’s also the built-in S Pen stylus. Besides, the S23 Ultra ships with Android 13 OS and gives you four years of Android updates.
