YouTube new tool warns creators about copyright violations during upload

YouTube’s new feature called "Checks" can tell the creators if their video contains any copyrighted material. Creators can now address the issues of copyright violation even before the video gets published. YouTube claims this feature will help creators monetize their videos quickly.

Basically how the new feature will work is when a creator makes a video and goes to upload it, YouTube will scan the video first to check if there is any copyright issue in the video. If any issues related to copyright are found in the video then the uploader will get warned and get the details about the problem, the timecode on when the video breaks the copyright rules, and the consequence it will have on the video. YouTube will give a chance to creators to remove copyrighted parts before uploading the video. Creators will also be allowed to dispute the claim even before publishing the video if the creators think that they have done nothing wrong.

The new tool is based on the copyright identification system of youtube. If the creators chose to upload the video knowing the copyright violation, the video might get blocked completely or the rightful rights holder can monetize the video.

This new feature of YouTube makes it easier for creators to find and dispute any copyright claims even before publishing the video.
