Qualcomm has unveiled its Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 chipset made for handheld gaming devices like the Nintendo Switch. The company also unveiled its first developer kit powered by the platform in partnership with Razor. In this post, we will be looking at the specifications and features of the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1.

Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 Overview
Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 is a G3x chip that features a Qualcomm Kryo CPU and Adreno GPU. the GPU here allows games to run at ultra-smooth 144 frames per second. Plus, True 10-bit HDR enables gaming in up to a billion shades of vivid color.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 supports both sub-6Hz and mmWave-based 5G connectivity. It also features Qualcomm's FastConnect 6900, which offers support for Wi-Fi 6 and WiFi 6E as well. According to Qualcomm, when available, the platform will enable users to stream games from cloud-gaming platforms like Microsoft’s Game Pass Ultimate or the Steam library.

Razer Developer Kit - Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 1
As mentioned above, the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 Developer Kit is made in collaboration between Qualcomm and Razer. This handheld gaming device has a 6.65-inch OLED screen that supports 120Hz refresh rates. It also has a 5MP webcam, which allows players to live stream with their faces.
Apart from that, the chipset features 5G (mmWave and sub-6 GHz) connectivity, 4-way speakers and is powered by Snapdragon G3x Gen 1.
