Poco X2 finally goes official | Costs $280 for 8/256GB variant

After an elongated wait from the pocophone fans, Poco X2 has been finally launched in the International market. The device also got recently launched in the Indian market too.

And as you may have already known, the Poco is now not a sub-brand of Xiaomi but an independent brand on itself. Well, this doesn’t mean that the brand won’t be using the resources from Xiaomi but it will be more of a Poco brand in itself, the business model, strategy, market, all-in-all will now be handled by Poco itself.

Poco fans had lots of expectations regarding the new Poco X2, and now as the device has been already released, let’s see what it has to offer.

Poco X2 Overview

Poco X2 was previously rumored to adopt similar specs as of the Redmi K30. Well, maybe that's come somewhat true now.

Display and Design

The new Poco X2 flaunts a 6.67-inches ‘RealityFlow’ FHD+ IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 20:9. More on, the interesting fact is that Poco has now included a 120Hz refresh rate on the screen which might definitely thrill you with smoother display elements. The “Intelligent Dynamic Refresh Rate” technology integrated into the display helps to arrange the refresh rate depending upon various types of apps used on the device. And this might be a great help to optimize the battery for smartphone users.

In terms of design, the Poco X2 adopts a curved glass body that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for optimum protection of the phone. It comes in three different color variants: Matrix Purple, Atlantis Blue, and Phoenix Red.

Camera

Camera-wise, the new Poco X2 is packed with a quad-camera setup on the back which comprises a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary lens placed along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a macro lens. Despite mostly being known for manufacturing gaming smartphones, Poco has included impressive camera features in the X2.

More on, you can easily shoot uncompressed RAW images from the device which might come very much handy for professional photographers for editing in the future run. On the video part, users can shoot up to 4K videos @ 30fps while in HD, you will be offered with 960fps.

Coming on to the front cameras, the device comes with a dual-camera setup at the front which comprises a 20MP primary lens along with a 2MP depth sensor.

Performance and Memory

This part is the most prominent part of what Poco fans are most eager to know. The Poco X2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor which is, in fact, a good chipset for gaming smartphones and from Poco, most of us may have already hoped for a gaming chipset. However, Poco fans might have somewhat hoped for an upper-level chipset than the 730G, say the 765G, but maybe the pricing might have played the role here.

As Pocophones are mostly known for their gaming capabilities, Poco has also integrated some cool features on the Poco X2 to enhance its gaming capabilities. The LiquidCool technology and the second-gen Game Turbo feature included in the device is definitely going to make it game-ready.

Coming on to the RAM and ROM, the Poco X2 comes in two different RAM variants—6GB or 8GB. Similarly, there are three variants for internal storage—64/128/256GB. It also supports UFS 2.1. And yes, the device runs on the latest Android 10 (Q) with MIUI 11 on top.

Battery

The new Poco X2 is packed with a 4500mAh battery which Poco claims to last at least 1 day even at heavy use. The device also includes a 27W charger which the company claims charges the device to full in around 68 minutes. Well, let’s wait until we can see for ourselves that Poco’s claim is right or not?

Price and Availability

The new Poco X2 is now only available in the International market which it has just been launched in India yesterday. I hope it might soon pave its way towards Nepal too. Coming onto the price,
