Well, this is, in fact, a great initiative by Taxi drivers as they have released their own mobile app, Easy Taxi Nepal. The new Taxi app was built with the co-operation between Valley Taxi Driver and Driver service society. More than 5 thousand self-employed taxi drivers of the Valley affiliated with the society have started providing taxi services based on the technology for the convenience of their passengers.
Regarding the increasing use of technology and services, the Taxi society has been testing the services given by the mobile app 'Easy Taxi Nepal' to travelers from the very first of the month Baishakh. The association has claimed that now the passengers can easily benefit from the app while riding around different destinations. For now, ‘Easy Taxi Nepal’ is available around all the parts of the valley while to benefit from it, the users need to download the easy taxi Nepal app from Play Store (Android). The association has also planned on releasing the ios version of the app soon within no time.

For using the app, the user should first register and login through the app and the real-time destination of the user will be displayed on the map. On the basis of the requests made by the passengers, the taxi drivers near the area will accept the same request through the app. Then the taxi driver will visit the passenger’s location and pick up him/her and serve them. “Now Nepal also has a taxi service based on technology,” said Sanu Purba Chhane, president of Taxi Business and Driver service society Nepal.
As the government is launching the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign for tourists, ‘Easy Taxi Nepal’ association is also planning to provide freight service to indigenous and foreign tourists by marketing and distributing their new technology-based taxi service. In the first service phase, more than 27 taxis were used for the service while now more taxi and drivers are being added in the app.
For now, the passengers are able to log in and travel through the app making payment by cash while if everything goes hand in hand, the association has also panned on adding digital mobile wallet for payment. For the service of Easy Taxi Nepal, if you need offline services such book for special tour packages, use taxi for long time span or know more about the taxi service, then you can easily benefit via call-centers in the near future. One can easily benefit from the Taxi service at both night and day shifts.
Likewise, the driver who is affiliated with this app and the traveler on this app, will both be insured with a mortgage of Rs. 5 lakhs. The driver society has planned on expediting the easy taxi service around other urban areas too within the upcoming days.
