MediaTek has announced the new Dimensity 7200 processor, starting its new Dimensity 7000 series. The Dimensity 7200 brings TSMC 4nm process, cutting-edge AI imaging features, powerful gaming optimizations, and impressive 5G speeds for future mid-range phones. So, let’s check out the capabilities of this new MediaTek SoC by going through its specs and features.
MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Overview
MediaTek Dimensity 7200 is built using the same TSMC 4nm second-generation process found in the Dimensity 9200, MediaTek’s most powerful chip. This octa-core processor features 2nd generation Armv9 processors with a fast peak performance of up to 2.8GHz. This includes two Arm Cortex-A715 cores and six Cortex-A510 cores.
This new MediaTek chip features the Arm Mali G610 MC4 GPU that supports fast response times and high frame rates. Besides, you get MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0, which provides gaming-related optimizations to the phone. It delivers optimized 5G and Wi-Fi game connections, exclusive AI-VRS for power savings, CPU & GPU smart resource optimization, and more.
In short, the Dimensity 7200 will deliver effortless multitasking and gaming performance while maximizing battery life.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7200 also features a built-in MediaTek APU 650 to maximize the efficiency of AI tasks and AI fusion. For optics, MediaTek’s Imagiq 765 premium-grade 14-bit HDR-ISP supports 200MP main cameras. Adding on, the chip also supports 4K HDR video recording or dual 1080P video capture while using all-pixel autofocus.
Other capabilities of the Dimensity 7200 include support for global HDR standards like HDR10+, CUVA HDR, and Dolby HDR for media streaming and playback. The chip further integrates a 3GPP Release-16 standard Sub-6GHz 5G modem with up to 4.7Gbps downlink and supports triband Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and next-gen Bluetooth 5.3.
