Honor has launched the successor of its honor 50 series smartphones in China. The new Honor 60 series consists of two premium smartphones - Honor 60 and Honor 60 Pro. Both the smartphones feature a 108MP primary camera, Snapdragon processors, and 66W fast charging capability. Here, we will go through the specifications, features, availability, and expected price of the Honor 60 series in Nepal.

Honor 60 Pro features a 6.78-inch quad-curved OLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 2652 x 1200 pixels. The display here supports a 120Hz refresh rate, DCI-P3 100% wide color gamut, and has an HDR10+ certification. It also supports an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometrics.

In terms of design, the smartphone has a dual ring camera design on the rear panel along with a gradient design with several cool effects.

Honor 60 Pro is the first smartphone to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 Plus processor. It comes with up to 12GB of RAM and a single 256GB storage option. 

Running on Android 11 based  Magic UI 5.0, the device packs a 4800mAh battery with support for 66W wired fast charging. Honor claims that the fast charging tech can deliver up to 60% charge in 15 minutes. Further, connectivity options on the 60 Pro include WiFi 6, NFC, dual 5G, Bluetooth 5.2.

Moving on to the optics, the triple camera setup of the Honor 60 Pro features a 108-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide with 122-degree FoV, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Upfront is also a 50-megapixel camera but with just 100-degree FoV for selfies and video calls. The selfie camera also features AI super-sensing, which allows gestures to control the camera. Honor believes that its 60-series smartphones are excellent for vlogging.

Both the Honor 60 and the 60 Pro share somewhat similar specifications and designs. The major factors that differentiate the vanilla 60 from its pro sibling are:

  • The vanilla 60 features a smaller 6.67-inch curved display (only on two sides).
  • It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G processor (Pro features the Plus version of the same chipset).
  • It has an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor (Pro features a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor)
  • The selfie camera also sees a downgrade from 50MP in the Pro model to just 32MP in the vanilla Honor 60.

Both the smartphones of the Honor 60 series are available for pre-order in China. The Honor 60 starts at CNY 2,699 for its base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model, whereas the Pro starts at CNY 3, 699 for its base 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model. If the smartphones arrive in Nepal, we expect the price to start around Rs.55,000 and Rs.75,000, respectively.
