Honor 50 series crosses $77 million in sales in just one minute

Among the three smartphones of the Honor 50 series, Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro just recently opened for sale in the Chinese market. The Chinese company announced that its 1-minute sales of the Honor 50 series exceeded 500 million Yuan, which is more than $77 Million.

Both Snapdragon 778 G-powered smartphones and Honor 50 SE with Dimensity 900 will also arrive in the global market. Hono has already confirmed that the smartphones in the global market will come with Google Mobile service pre-installed.

Looking at the spec sheet of the Honor 50 series, the smartphones seem to be very capable devices from Honor. It will be interesting to see how the global consumers will respond to the Honor 50 series after it gets launched in the global market.

Honor 50 Overview

Honor 50 comes with a 6.57inch OLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate. With a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, the display supports HDR10+ content. The dimension of the Honor 50 measure 160 x 73.8 x 7.8 mm and weighs 175 grams.

Moving on to the processor, Honor 50 comes equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset. This 5G 6nm chipset can be paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The device operates on Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11. Honor has confirmed that the smartphone will ship with Google Mobile Service (GMS) in the global market.

Honor 50 features a quad-camera setup at the back that consists of a 108MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide with 120-degree FOV, and two 2MP macro and depth sensors. Upfront is a 32MP wide selfie camera. The rear camera setup the Honor 50 can capture 4K videos at 30/60fps, whereas the front camera can take 1080p videos at 30fps.

Fueling the device is a 4300mAh battery that supports 66-watt fast charging. For security, there is an under-display optical fingerprint scanner. Furthermore, the smartphone features dual-band WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity.

Honor 50 Price in Nepal

Available in color variants of Frost Crystal, Amber Red, Emerald Green, and Midnight Black, the Honor 50 is priced at CNY 2,699 for the 8/128GB variant and CNY 3,399 for the higher 12/256GB variant in China. If the Honor 50 launches in Nepal, we expect the price to start at around Rs.55,000.

Honor 50 Pro Overview

Honor 50 Pro comes with bigger a 6.72-inch OLED display compared to other models on the series. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate. With a resolution of 1236 x 2676 pixels, the display supports HDR10+ content. The Honor 50 Pro is 8mm thick and weighs 187 grams.

Like the Honor 50, the Honor 50 Pro also comes equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset which makes the duo, first smartphones to feature the chipset. This 5G 6nm chipset can be paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The device operates on Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11 and outside China, the smartphone will ship with Google Mobile Service (GMS).
