Ford Freestyle Pricing of all variants in Nepal

Go Automobiles, the authorised distributor of Ford cars in Nepal has just outed the Ford FreeStyle pricing and availability in Nepal. Unlike most of the other small hatches, the Freestyle is offered with both a petrol motor and a diesel motor. There are a total of 8 variants on offer. Let's go through each of them.

The price of the Ford Freestyle Petrol starts at Rs.26,99,000 and the price of the FreeStyle Diesel starts at Rs. 29,99,000. Both the engine options can be have had in 4 trims: Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+.

The top-of-the-line Petrol FreeStyle costs Rs.32,49,000 and the diesel costs Rs.35,99,000. There's a price difference of Rs.2,50,00-3,00,000 between the petrol and diesel engine option.

The Ford FreeStyle makes up for an excellent first car. The car, if you go with the higher trim levels, is really well equipped and comes with a host of safety features.

The Ford Freestyle gets an all-new 1.2L Dragon Engine churning out 96HP and 120Nm of Torque. It's the second dragon series engine that we are seeing on a Ford car. The other dragon series engine can be found on the Ford Ecosport which as a 1.5L 3-cylinder Dragon engine churning out 123ps of power. And like the Ecosport, the Ford Freestyle's petrol motor is also a 3-cylinder one. And even though it is a 3-cylinder engine, it's quite refined. It's only at idling you realise it's a three-cylinder engine.

The direct competitors for the Ford Freestyle are Hyundai i20 Active, Cross Polo as well as the Fiat Punto Avventura. And with the pricing Ford has been able to put out, it's going to be serious threats to its competitors.

What features does the Ford FreeStyle have?

Even the base variant gets safety aids like ABS with EBD, dual-front airbags, three-point rear seat belts, reverse parking sensors and rear fog lamps. It's good to see companies offering Dual Airbags as standard across the lineup.

The mid-spec Trend adds a rear-view camera, and front and rear fog lamps, whereas the higher Titanium trim gets Hill-start Assist, ESP and traction control (collectively called Active Rollover Prevention). Meanwhile, the top-spec trim also gets six-airbags and an emergency assist system.

The Titanium and the Titanium+ are the ones you should be looking at if you want a car that matches style, comfort and features. For most of the buyers out there, the FreeStyle Titanium is going to be more than enough.

Heck, if you are low on budget, even the Trend Freestyle will suffice. The Trend variant gets blackened pillars and ORVM mounted turn indicators. Surprisingly enough, this variant also gets a 6.5-inch touchscreen as well as a reverse camera. There are power windows on all the four doors and each door gets its own speaker. The sound from the 4-speaker on the Freestyle is much better than what you will find in the Suzuki Swift and that on the Volkswagen Polo.

What variant of the Ford FreeStyle should you buy?

I highly recommend you get the Diesel Ford Freestyle Titanium variant. In Nepal, people choose the petrol engine over the diesel engine because of the cost difference between the motors. But with the FreeStyle, the price difference isn't all that much. All you are paying is Rs.2.5-3 lakh extra for the diesel motor. If you plan on keeping the car for 4-5 years, the price will itself balance out. The Diesel is frugal returning 24kmpl. But the story doesn't end there. The Diesel motor also produces 100hp which is more than that of the 1.2L dragon petrol engine.

Not only that, it produces max power and peak torque much lower down the rev range making it more accessible and perfect for city-go conditions. Also, the price you get when you finally decide to sell the car will also be higher. So, diesel should be the pick if you are planning to get the new Ford FreeStyle.

Of all the variants there are, the Titanium is the one that should be best suited for most of the people. It gets all the features you would ever want in a car and some more. It gets a 6.5-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reverse camera and parking sensors. Also, you get Ford's Keyless entry with Push Start/Stop feature. Other features include smoked 15-inch Alloy wheels as well ABS and EBD.

That's all to know about the Ford Freestyle. It's one of the best cars you can buy for the money. Ford is really setting up the come with launches of new cars that are specifically designed for the Nepalese and Indian road conditions. The FreeStyle is undoubtedly the best car you can get in the Rs.30,000,000 price range.
