US luxury car maker Tesla is set to launch a battery in collaboration with BYD. Tesla is about to use BYD's latest blade battery in its machine.

US carmaker Tesla plans to use BYD batteries in models produced at its Shanghai plant in China.
Tesla plans to buy new technology welded batteries from BYD's battery maker Finn Dreams Battery for 240,000 vehicles annually.
BYD is launching a new batch of C112F batteries from next month. After that, the company is preparing to deliver batteries to Tesla, according to a Chinese media firm.

Tesla's cars with BYD's welded battery will arrive in the Chinese market from the second quarter of 2022. The battery supplied by BYD will reach 45 percent of the total capacity of Tesla's Shanghai plant.
Tesla's Shanghai plant could produce 450,000 units of cars annually. Tesla is currently producing Standard Range Model 3 and Model Y in China. The electric carmaker is currently using a kettle battery at its Shanghai plant.
