Realme GT 2 brings Snapdragon 888 SoC and a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor | Specs and Features

Along with the Realme GT 2 Pro, the company also launched the vanilla GT 2. The smartphone carries the specs that were common on the 2021 flagship smartphones like SD 888 SoC, 120Hz E4 AMOLED display, a cooling system, and more.

Realme GT 2 Overview

Design and Display

Realme GT 2 features a 6.62-inch E4 AMOLED panel with an FHD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The display here supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch sampling rate, and gets the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Like the Pro model, the vanilla GT 2 also features a back panel with environmentally-friendly bio-based material on some models

Performance

The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. and runs the Android 12 OS with Realme UI 3.0 on top. It comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage.

For cooling, the GT 2 features the diamond ice core cooling system Plus. This nine-layer heat dissipation structure uses a 36761mm² heat dissipation area and a 4129mm² VC liquid cooling surface.

Camera

For optics, the triple rear camera setup is headlined by a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). It is then followed by an 8MP ultrawide with 119-degree FoV and a 2MP sensor for macro photography.

Upfront is a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls, housed inside the punch-hole cutout on the top left corner of the display.

Battery and Others

Realme GT 2 packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. There is an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometrics. The smartphone also features Dolby Atmos dual speakers with Hi-Res sound quality certification.

Connectivity options on the GT 2 include 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

Realme GT 2 Price and Availability

Realme GT 2 price in China starts at CNY 2,599 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model. Like its flagship pro sibling, the smartphone is currently only available in China. If the device arrives in Nepal, we expect the price to start around Rs.55,000.
