Every vehicle owner needs to know at what time to pay their vehicle’s tax. Some people end up paying a fine every year because they do not know when they will have to pay the vehicle tax or renew their bluebook.
The vehicle registration date is written on the first page of the blue book of all the vehicles. The renewal date is fixed every year according to the same date. The month mentioned in the registration date has to be renewed in the same month of each year.
The last page in the bluebook contains the vehicle-renewal date, which includes the date of inspection and the expiration date. People do not have to pay penalties when they pay tax within 90 days of the due date. But that date will not be valid from Chaitra to mid-Ashar of the fiscal year.
For example, if a vehicle expires in Bhadra, the vehicle tax can be paid by Mangsir. But if there is an expiration date in Chaitra, in this case, 90 days expansion is not available. If a person has an expiration date in Baishakh, Jestha, and Asar, an additional period of 90 days won’t be provided instead the owner should renew the vehicle before the expiration date.
Vehicles that expire in Baishakh, Jestha, and Asar have to pay tax in Chaitra. Otherwise, a fine will be levied as per the rules.
