Google has launched its 2021 flagship smartphone, the Google Pixel 6 Pro. The smartphone brings an in-house Tensor processor, a 120Hz LTPO OLED display, and an Android 12 operating system out of the box. Here, we will go through the specifications, features, availability, and expected price of the Google Pixel 6 Pro in Nepal.

Design and Display

Google Pixel 6 Pro features a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED panel with a QHD+ resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels. The display here is curved slightly on the edges and gets Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It supports a variable refresh rate ranging from 10Hz to 120Hz.

In terms of design, the pixels now have a bar-shaped camera module that spans the width of the device. The back panel of the Pixel 6 Pro also gets the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. Similarly, the smartphone weighs 210 grams, measures 8.9mm thick, and is IP68 rated water and dust resistant.

Performance

The Pixel 6 series smartphones debut Google’s custom-developed 5nm Tensor SoC that has two ARM Cortex-X1 cores (first phone with more than one X1 core) running at 2.8GHz. The Mali-G78 here handles the graphics. The Tensor also has a built-in Titan M2 chip for security.

The smartphone runs on Android 12 with Material You UI. Further, Google has promised 5 years of security updates on the Pixel 6 Pro.

Camera

For optics, the 6 Pro features a ripple camera setup on the back. It consists of a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS and 82° FOV. The primary camera is followed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide with 114-degree FOV and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens with OIS and 4x optical zoom. Upfront is an 11.1-megapixel fixed focus ultrawide camera for selfies and video calls.

Both the front and back camera can take 4K videos at 30fps. Other camera features include Magic Eraser, Motion Mode, Real Tone, Face Unblur, and more.

Battery and Others

Powering the Pixel 6 Pro is a 5003mAh battery capable of 30W fast charging, 23W wireless fast charging, and a Battery Share feature. There is an under-display fingerprint sensor for biometrics. Connectivity options on the device include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

Google Pixel 6 Pro Price and Availability

Google Pixel 6 Pro will be available for purchase in the US starting October 28, with pre-orders already started. The smartphone starts at USD 899 for the base 12GB RAM + 128GB storage model. If the smartphone launches here in Nepal, we expect the price to start around Rs.1,15,000.
