AMD's new Ryzen 5000 series and 4000 series processors

AMD expanded its desktop CPU portfolio with 3 Ryzen 5000 series and 3 4000 series processors. Based on the company's Zen 3 and Zen 2 architectures, these processors range from quad-core to octa-core, and one even includes built-in Radeon graphics. All the processors will be available starting April 4, 2022. So, let’s go through the specs and the official price of the new Ryzen 5000 and 4000 series processors.

AMD Ryzen 5000 Series 

 

AMD has added three new Zen 3 based CPU models in its Ryzen 5000 series. The top model is the Ryzen 7 5700X, which features an 8-core, 16-thread with a boost clock of 4.6GHz. It has a TDP of 65W and costs USD 299. Similarly, the $199 Ryzen 5 5600 features 6-core/12-thread with boost and base clocks of 4.4 and 3.5GHz, respectively. AMD has also included the Wraith Stealth cooler with the processor. 

The cheapest from the 5000 series is the new Ryzen 5 5500. It also features  6-core/12-thread but with boost and base clocks of 4.2 and 3.6GHz. This new CPU also comes with a Wraith Stealth box cooler and is priced at USD 159.

AMD Ryzen 4000 Series 

 

AMD has also added three new CPU models to the Ryzen 4000 series, but compared to the 5000 series, the 4000 series is based on the older Zen 2 architecture. The top model in this series is the Ryzen 5 4600G with integrated Radeon graphics. It has 6-cores/12-threads and a boost clock speed of 4.2GHz. The CPU costs $154 and comes with a Wraith Stealth cooler. 

The next up is Ryzen 5 4500 with 6-cores/12-threads and a boost clock speed of 4.1GHz, but there is no integrated graphics. This CPU also comes with a Wraith Stealth cooler and costs $129. Lastly, the $99 Ryzen 3 4100 is the cheapest in the 4000 series. It brings 4-cores, 8-threads, 6MB cache, 65W TDP, 4.0 boost clock speed, and the Wraith Stealth cooler.
